To put it bluntly, Trump's reason for starting a trade war with Canada is to purposefully take out our economy at the knees. To make us weak and apathetic enough that we'll welcome a US takeover of our country with open arms. He's not interested in fair trade. He wants our territory and resources.

As an update, I was able to book a single week at an expensive specialty camp so now I'm up to 3 of the 9 weeks booked.

After 5 minutes of opening, the camp registration was full. I got 2 weeks only and didn't key in the correct activity options for my kid. There are 9 weeks to fill in the summer. Gah! This is the most stress inducing day in my entire year!

Summer camp sign up is this morning. Registration opens at the exact same time as school drop off. They don't allow you to select all of the weeks you need at once - you have to do them one week at a time. It's just evil.

My bluesky feed is far more political than it was when I joined the platform. I'm not surprised. I can't think of a time where more Canadians were angry about politics than we are right now. I really hope that people make their votes count.

This morning, my kid crawled up into my bed after a nightmare and it somehow turned into an impromptu spelling bee. Apparently I lost because I took too long between letters. My kiddo lost because she refused to spell words out loud. I think my husband rigged it so he would win.

In a cruel twist of fate, I need to contact the support line again. I'm using a new tactic and not calling and instead using the online chat. I've been #4 in the queue for 5 full minutes. This will be a long wait but at least the music is my own and not from an elevator.

In other office tech support this week, my monitor went and I had to swap hardware around. My eyes were going buggy with the different aspect ratios so had to swap the second monitor as well. Can you believe my company used to pay an IT contractor to come in and do this in the past? It's baffling.

My tech support shenanigans continued today by calling a help desk where I waited so long in the queue that the system timed out and they had to call me back. If that wasn't bad enough - the rep called me the wrong name twice and rushed me through my issue. Was so happy to share the feedback after.

Kid went back to school. She knows 80% off her classmates. This was our easiest transition into a new school year yet. Not going to lie - having a neurospicy child made me really worried about that.

My kid went to the movies yesterday with her summer camp to see Elemental. She was that kid wearing headphones and gripping a stuffed animal. SHE LOVED IT. So much so, she told me she wants me to take her to see Barbie. So we are going tomorrow. It's a happy day!

Family is really important to me but no one is more important than my neurodivergent daughter. Her amazing imagination is always dreaming up different story lines or games in her head. She's either quiet or very loud but hates noise, unless she's making it herself. Movies have been a challenge.
