This is the key that makes ATProto such a winner for data ownership. You own the data. The apps, platforms, and services that everyone uses only augment it. You get to choose where your source of truth lives. Everything else is just distribution. #Fediverse Threads

This has deep implications for the lifecycle of products. If a product gets shut down, the data doesn’t disappear. It’s still in its users’ repos. Someone can build a replacement that makes this data comes back to life. Someone can build a new product that incorporates some of that data, or lets users choose what to import. Someone can build an alternative projection of existing data—a forked product.

The employee at AI coding assistant company Replit who wrote the report, reviewed by Semafor, says he and a colleague scanned 1,645 Lovable-created web apps that were featured on the company’s site. Of those, 170 allowed anyone to access information about the site’s users, including names, email addresses, financial information and secret API keys for AI services that would allow would-be hackers to run up charges billed to Lovable’s customers.

So dope that @ghost is adding a switch for Bridgy Fed! One of our (many) goals with @anewsocialweb is to make it easier to bridge your accounts on platforms and apps you already use, so I love seeing it pop up organically on such an important platform 🌐🙏🏼

From a post on Ghost's blog that gives updates on their open social web integration:To make your Ghost site show up Bluesky: You have to first search-for and follow @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy inside Ghost. Now, your site will also show up on Bluesky, but with a different (weird) username.We're going to replace the entire above process with two buttons: "Enable Threads" and "Enable Bluesky" - which you can just... click.
