In Germany, this has been part of a conservative agenda for quite some time, with former ministers like Jens Spahn complaining in the media about the absence of German in Berlin restaurants. Never gained much traction, though.

Public interactions are one of the standard topoi in language-ideological debates on belonging through legitimate compentencies in Luxembourg. For us, bakeries and medical appointments have become somewhat canonical. Wrote sth about it in this overview of the 2015-2020 debate phase.

After developing a new website for the Lautdenkmal project, I also rebuilt my research lab’s homepage. Plain HTML/JS with a Python builder again, this time replacing a Hugo-driven site. The design language is much calmer and more refined now, less in-your-face but with a unique twist.

Due to the recent heat wave, I picked up the game again and, well, let's just say things escalated again. I moved on to an online multiplayer browser game written in Python, JavaScript, and HTML. I'm not sure the world needs this, but I certainly did. Now back to destroying universes 🪐💥

When the pandemic hit, I started writing the game as a CLI Python version, mostly to stay sane and learn object-oriented programming. This quickly escalated into implementing and training different kinds of bots to play against, ranging from random choices to advanced ML models.

Next we built a proper prototype with proper card design and have been playing it on and off ever since, without larger changes to the setup or rules. The game is designed for two to six players and focuses on interaction and ways to annoy opponents.

Eleven years ago, I dreamed of a card game in which players would build and play universes against each other in the multiverse. The next day, we built a prototype using the backs of another game's card deck. The game was playable and astonishingly stable from the beginning.

Christoph Purschke @questoph.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

Christoph Purschke @questoph.bsky.social · 30/05/2026
