This mindset is the least we deserve from a leader. Of course it has to be turned into action. But this kind of ambition and love for the country, this kind of personal but positive vision is what takes people with you. How feeble-minded Farage and Badenoch seem. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Photo of Burnham waving to the audience in front of HOPE AGAIN backdrop Burnham was not going to die wondering. He knew he might be delivering one of the longest suicide notes in history, but he did it anyway. Because he couldn't not do it. Better to go down remaining true to his principles than being slowly airbrushed out of history like the previous six prime ministers. Failures all. Andy was prepared to burn through all his political capital right there in Liverpool, right then. Not just for his own legacy but for a country he wanted to rebuild. It was the only way he could look himself in the mirror.
Honour his parents.

I’ve never listened to a PMs speech at a party conference. But I listened to Andy Burnhams speech. Given without notes or a lectern. It’s the best speech I’ve ever heard. He’s given it straight from the hip and his heart. People who say they don’t trust politicians need to trust this man #AndyBurnham

. These data centers are bad news and we don't need them. I have written 3 major articles on these. The whole thing is shady as sh#t and has been rolling out in the most corrupt, oppressive and tyrannical fashion possible. And God only knows what we've got coming when all these are up online. .

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

Okay, but the problem with this is that both the Tories and Labour are totally dependent upon millionaire bungs. So what we will get here is something more like: Bribes to be capped at (x) million quid, per year.

Think Reform fucked it with their donations.
They're so outrageous, so obviously obscene, that they've managed to accidentally create a consensus for tougher action on political funding. 1/4

Our current system of funding is anti-democratic – those with big money have more say than the simple vote we all have. A cap on donations would be a step in the right direction – the end game should be publicly funded politics. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Reform declines to say whether £72m donors returned to UK in time to meet 12-month limit
Richard Tice says donations are legally compliant amid speculation on overseas rules proposed in Rycroft report Reform UK’s deputy leader has declined to say when two crypto billionaires who gave a combined £72m to the party returned to the UK, as the architect of a review into overseas donations said anyone here for less than 12 months would be subject to a limit on donations. Richard Tice said that while he was completely confident Reform had complied with all current and proposed laws on donations, he could not say when Ben Delo returned to the UK from Hong Kong, or how much time the Thailand-based Christopher Harborne spent in Britain.
