Still on the night of July 20 to 21, 2025, as the bulk of the cells to our northeast moved off, new cells began forming to our south, heading toward the sea. The lightning activity wouldn't match the first round, but it still gave us some beautiful scenes. Since we hadn't repositioned, the strikes were falling behind the horizon.Still on the night of July 20 to 21, 2025, as the bulk of the cells to our northeast moved off, new cells began forming to our south, heading toward the sea. It’s gonna be a risky day tomorrow here. Models showing more rain every run is quite worrying. We’ll see tomorrow what happens!

#Polo keeps getting weirder. The odd blob now has colder cloud tops (more intense) thunderstorm clusters than the eyewall.🧐

Cat 5 Hurricane Polo, seen 22nd Sept by the OLCI instrument aboard Sentinel-3B. Polo rapidly intensified and now has ferocious winds OLCI is designed to look at the Earth's oceans, seas and lakes - but thanks to a great design is also super useful for monitoring weather too @esa.int @eumetsat.int

A suivre !

Quel plaisir⚡
Storms were forecast with the arrival of a cold front, even though the models didn't agree on any particular area. Early in the evening, cells formed along the Hérault coastline and moved up toward the northeast, in my direction. After a few distant flashes, the cell right in front of me eventually put on some beautifully powerful strikes, accompanied by deafening thunder! What a joy this kind of atmosphere is! Hello there! I’m a storm photographer from the south of France! Photography is increasingly facing the rise of GenAI, and I honestly can’t understand why some people use it : it deteriorates the image and creates things that don’t even exist 🫠 You can check out my GenAI-free photos ⚡️
