This is one of our old farm fields, about 10 ha's. It's covered in milkweed. We leave it this way for the Monarch Butterfly and all the other pollinators. Birds, including the wild turkeys nest in here as well.

I missed Coco for 2 months while I was in Portugal. She spent that time with people she loves. Yet she was absolutely crazy when I came home. Next year, we won't be gone that long. Coco is my baby, and I really missed her. Coco rocks.

Where the heck have I been? I traveled to the edge of the world, the most South-western tip of Europe and didn't fall off! It was a beautiful sunny day. One misstep and over you go. We're in Portugal, enjoying the weather after a month of devastating storms hitting the Iberian Peninsula.

We once needed a door, and when we were at the dump, someone opened their trunk and pulled out a door that was just the kind we needed. Wayne Gretzky was a hero. He isn't anymore. I can't reconcile his support of Trump, when that person is attacking Canada. He remains the best hockey player ever, he's no longer someone, people can look up to as a 'Canadian Hero'.

Beautiful morning here on the farm. Wild turkeys, Mom and young ones choosing to claim an area they dare not venture into if Coco wasn't sleeping. Brazen behaviour! I'm seeing this from the front porch. If I stand up to get a better view, they scatter quickly.

This is one reason I love living on our farm. It's unique in so many ways. An off the grid home, set atop a hill, amongst the Maple and Cedar trees. I call the house the tower. From my bedroom on the third floor, my view is of trees going on forever. The night sky is full of stars.

Harvesting all of our basil yesterday was a wise move. We now have pesto for a good part of the winter. A win for outside!

Visiting my Mom in the Okanagan. She has a pear tree so we were peeling pears for canning. I'm gonna need another badge to fly back to Ontario with! Cookies and pears filling my suitcase. Mom is 85 and she never really stops. She did let me cook dinner last night. I love my Mom!

I'm at our postage stamp sized front yard in Toronto's Cabbagetown for a few days. I've had two visitors this morning, first a raccoon that startled itself when it stepped on my foot, and now the Squirrel. The raccoon looked at me like what the heck, man, get out of my way.
