With over a decade of experience, Qais creates bold, colourful, and joyous work that blends storytelling with a distinctive visual style. Their practice moves between commercial projects and personal explorations, often drawing on queer identity and lived experience as inspiration.
A joyful character floating in space, surrounded by glowing, colourful geometric shapes.A queer, dancing figure inspired by dragonflies, wearing a long, silky cape that resembles wings, with sparkles against a vivid pink and purple background.Poster for the short film Alwan, showing a young boy floating peacefully in mid-air, surrounded by bursts of warm colours. An abstract blue swirl flowing across a dark background, with gradients of navy and turquoise evoking water and fluid movement.

Their creative process starts with mixed media paper collages and inky textures. PO then makes their own recycled paper from the scraps and creates blind contours, adding sustainability to their work. Their life's purpose is to brighten someone’s day and make the world slightly more magical.

Inspired by childlike sense of wonder, PO produces art that encourages individuals to see the world through a different lens and laugh along the way. Their pieces are often constructed out of paper-cut shapes that explore themes of absurdity, nature, love, queerness, and mental health.
