I've just... never quite heard anything like it. Pete Seeger tried to emulate the guitar playing, but it just isn't quite the same. Bob Gibson played the 12 string similarly, but again, it's different. There just isn't music quite like Leadbelly's imo.

If you listen to his music enough, the degree of his influence begins to make so much sense. I don't think his music is mind-blowing on the first time round, but as you listen further, it starts to click, at least in my case. It's so good.
