I am so excited for every episode we record of @technicaltea.show and not just because @nicoleackermans.com and I were a Vampire Witch and French Zombie, respectively, for Episode 3. But because our costumes were thematically relevant!

Reading up on the Nancy Grace Roman telescope, trying to understand the difference between Roman and Hubble. Here's a decent explainer that AI Mode scrounged up. Now look at the link it used for the "citation". A Cambridge article about biological eyes and how they evolved. Not. Same.

When you decide to start testing more on physical devices and pull some out that haven't been used in the range of 1-3 years. Then you spend the next 2 days doing ALL the updates.

Okay, this is a really fun, sleeper large screen experience for watching football in YouTube TV: stats, key plays, + other scores on the side. Yes, these are easy to access in compact mode (+ they don't cover up the video, yay!). But in large screen, it's like my own little football command center.

Started off with an amazing cake that was so many things I love. A chocolate genoise sandwiched between two layers of meringue and filled with berries. Actually there was a little chocolate in the meringue and icing. Made and assembled by three of my favorite women in the whole world.

I can still eat a dozen blue crabs. Claws, tomalley, all. This place is the last place I had lunch with mom. Getting through a dozen gave lots of time for stories about Vietnam. We took a selfie in front of the water on the way out. @cephus.bsky.social comes with me and we still take a pic for mẹ.

Me in my happy place, sitting at a brown paper topped table with a dozen steamed blue crabs poured out on the table, orange and coated in spice. Unsweetened ice tea and waters are crowded to one side. I already cracked into the first one and it tastes awesome, like home. I'm smiling happily with eyes closed tight.

This restaurant is on the water with a large enclosed area. Christmas lights still cover the enclosed outside dining area and the stairs up to the parking lot. It's already dusk. Josh and are standing on the steps up, so the waterfront is visible behind us. This is where Mom and I took a selfie out last lunch here.

Visited dad; randomly opened up my old "treasure cabinets" which became mom's camera storage. Pulled out her vintage Nikon film camera. She bought it from a photographer cousin. She loved photography; this might be the first she bought for herself. I remember how it sounds so well. Miss you, Mom.

My mom's vintage Nikon film camera sitting on a bed with purple grey leopard print sheets. I think it's a Nikon FE Black? The lens is the original one and is metal with lovely scuffs and worn paint.

I am holding mom's vintage Nikon in my right hand with my thumb on the film advance lever. The view is from behind and slightly above the camera so the leather-lile texture on the top elements is visible. The film ISO dial has a range of numbers and a cut out glass view into an inner dial that shows the actual selected ISO. The shutter button is raised with a central screw hole for attaching shutter button accessories.

A portrait mode photo focused on the inner portion of the viewfinder l, which is heavy glass in a metal fixture. The viewfinder is circular and the fixture is quite thick with scuffing from use. The leather-lile texture can be seen on the top of the camera around the hot shoe and the film compartment cover. The film rewind lever is visible on the left also scuffed.

Adding some Vietnamese to second Thanksgiving. Helped me aunt make gỏi xoài bò khô, Vietnamese mango and beef jerky salad. The dressing is garlic (tỏi), lime juice (nước chanh), sugar (đường), and fish sauce (nước mắm). There's also chopped cilantro (ngò). Delicious. Amazing balance of flavors.

The Vietnamese mango and beef salad (gỏi xoài bò khô) server on a large oval plate with the julienned mango and cilantro in the center with pomelo pieces around the perimeter and a line of sprinkled beef jerky down the longer axis. Eight shrimp chips (bánh tôm) are scooped into the salad around the perimeter.

2024.11.22: Huge PR for me. 28 kg/62 lbs Getup on both the right + left side. My left shoulder was sore + stiff. The leg pop at heavy weights is a WIP. Even if the left was a little rough, I still got UP. It is hard to describe how unfathomable 28 kg for this move felt last year. 41 years old. LFG.
