Sorry, Huw, still not a gish gallop. Barely a walk. Not my fault if the canary's LLM use has trimmed their cognitive wings. Also...you might want to consider checking your own feathers, the points I've made are sniped, not shotgunned.

Huw, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Drink deep, or taste not that Empyrean spring. My few statements above fairly fail to meet the stretchiest definition of a 'Gish gallop.' Your statements might well satisfy a straw man.

AI psychosis resulting in suicide at a rate that would make tobacco companies blush, as a start. For a depressed wages, look no further than www.businessinsider.com/ai-could-low... LLM training≠human learning, thank you. You'll need more than reddit posts to get up to speed on cognitive science.

AI's real threat to the job market: lower paychecks, new research says
Roles with a high exposure to AI have seen sharp declines in real wages in recent years, according to a new whitepaper from Apollo.

Lol. Willful ignorance smells pretty rank these days, my boy. Its not the math @Canary, its the lives and work fed into the wood chipper to destroy livelihoods and depress wages. I don't object to child labor because I hate assembly lines.

For the same reason one shouldn't buy products made by child labor. The process and the product are not distinguishable. Ends do not justify means.

AI is not a truth engine and cognitive surrender is real. Once AI delivers a load of slop it becomes difficult to do the work yourself. The AI already 'did it.' I don't want to read a multidimensional average of the internet's tokens. If you aren't speaking using your voice, I no longer care

Sorry, what now? How to go from evil to dark lord all the while saying, 'but what did I do?' Put simply, AI companies funded by billions in debt are buying used books so they can destroy them. All used books. So neither you nor competitors can buy them. futurism.com/artificial-i...

AI Companies Are Buying Antique Books, Ingesting Their Contents to Train Models, and Then Destroying Them at Incredible Scale, Even If Almost No Copies Remain
AI companies are quietly obtaining rare books, ingesting their contents, and then destroying them -- even if they're exceedingly rare.

Minton Beddoes was a decent interviewer on the Economist. It was nice to watch an interview by someone that didn't come out of the American middle-grade softball school of journalism.

Science is almost exclusively process knowledge. Articles are advertisements; almost never can another scientist replicate the work from only the paper itself. That is why it takes a 7+ year apprenticeship to become a scientist. Lose scientists, lose knowledge that will take decades to replace.

We have in this country now a system that drives powerful men evil and evil men to power. Perhaps, sometime in the next 250, under the absurd premise that the country will survive intact so long, we will evolve to constrain the powerful in service and the evil in jail.

So, how do you clean a reflecting pool covered in dond scum? Do you just scoop out the scrump and bleach? Add a more democratic filter so more dond scrump doesn't get in?

Nope, AG is dead wrong. Libraries make readers. Without readers, authors can't make any living at all.

LLMs do not PRODUCE value. At best, they file the serial numbers off valuable writing and concentrate the wealth the writing creates upwards. If LLMs produced actual value, they wouldn't need humans any more more inputs, now would they?
000
quatch.bsky.social @quatch.bsky.social · 08/05/2026
Oh no! It's worse, you think you are a journalist and you repeat LLM hype. Let me paraphrase an actual writer, "I can write better than anybody who writes with an LLM, and I can write faster than anybody who can write better without an LLM." A claim to aspire to, Franky.

quatch.bsky.social @quatch.bsky.social · 08/05/2026
Oh, I'm so sorry. You think LLMs 'surface information.' LLM's 'surface information' the same way autocomplete 'surfaces information.' Duck, man, do some reading.

Here, in this uncritical interview, confidently dribbling nonsense from his wet mouth hole, Marc asserts his ability to prove himself a fool. A rich fool, but a fool nonetheless. Not just ignorant, though he is that as well, but a fool resisting the self-reflection needed for wisdom. Incurable.

This quote from Mr. Beaver seems more prescient every day. "But in general, take my advice, when you meet anything that's going to be human and isn't yet, or used to be human once and isn't now, or ought to be human and isn't, you keep your eyes on it and feel for your hatchet."

1. Not true. 2. Irrelevant. Just because you asked someone to help kill you doesn’t mean they can avoid prosecution for doing so. People who create dangerous products can and must be held accountable

Combining pollen scores and not including prescription allergy meds is likely to produce false-positive cities. The combined score is less important than an allergen peak score. And a city with many people on prescription meds would be ignored by this methodology. Eugene, Oregon, for example.
