The coil is the heart of every NMR probe. It is used to send pulses and receive signals from the NMR-active nuclei. Its material and design directly affect NMR resolution and sensitivity, making it a crucial component of any NMR spectrometer. #NMRchat

#NMRchat if you’re flying into SFO Sunday morning for #ENCISMAR2025, I can offer a ride to Asilomar for 2-3 people. Info already on the transportation matching G-sheet.

Even the smallest contamination on an NMR tube can significantly impact your results. A dirty sample can lead to: - Poor shimming and reduced sensitivity - Potential contamination of the probe, requiring time-consuming maintenance #NMRchat #ChemSky #RealTimeChem
Illustration of the effect of dirty NMR tubes. The top shows a clean NMR tube and the corresponding "shim-map", which is very homogeneous. The bottom shows an NMR tube with a small black marker dot. The corresponding shim map shows a clear perturbation of several Hz around the dot.

Ever wished you could bring your NMR to a concert? That’s still unsafe, but now you can have a light show *inside* your NMR probe! Meet the QUAD Light-Probe. Designed for seamless photo-NMR experiments, covering a broad spectral range, incl. UV.
