I knew this book was going to be excellent because @vickyacab.bsky.social 🫶 but I honestly was not prepared for just HOW good it is. I went in with a decent amount of knowledge and already agreeing with the premise, yet still learned a lot. Give this to your liberal and moderate friends especially!

Cis "allies" in my state have so far only gotten outraged and stepped up to defend entertainment they love to consume (book bans and drag show bans). Completely ignoring the things most vital to trans people's lives, like bans on bathrooms, proper ID, healthcare, and more.

I put off reading this for 3.5 years because I knew it would be the last RHE book I read for the first time. 💔 "On the days when I believe..." is a phrase I've thought about a lot. Reading this book now, after processing so much anger? Perfect timing. (And Nadia Bolz-Weber's epilogue: 🥹❤️‍🔥)

I finished @margaret.bsky.social's new book and y'all, it's wonderful. 🥹 I love the way the narrative is descriptive but never overly so. Each character has a unique voice, and little regional phrases like “might should have been" are a nice touch. A brief thread (not sure if it'll post in order):

Neighborhood cat usually comes inside only for short bursts of time. Not very interested in being a house cat. But this snow day? She's been inside napping next to me all day and evening. I strive for this level of sound sleep.

Musician graffiti is one of my favorite parts about being an orchestra librarian. 😂 (As long as it's in pencil and doesn't get in the way of the music itself.) I leave it in for future lols.

Took advantage of the Steam sale and grabbed #Astroneer, which has a learning curve (for me, at least, because I'm a very casual gamer) but is a heck of a lot of fun!

I just want to share this ridiculously cute cat I sometimes get to say hello to, when I'm lucky. We call him "Beanie Baby Cat" because of those irresistibly adorable eyes. 💖
