26/26 I probably have more thoughts on the matter but I'm tired and forgetting things before I fall asleep. I cannot wait for all of my points to be knocked down in a few days lol. These are just some of my ramblings, carry on.

25/26 I doubt Toejam Fawkes would put zero-sense lyrics in important songs without having meaningful context to the narrative. Also, the world in the prohecy 'hope' being crossed on her heart is vague. One could interpret hope on her heart (Kris' soul) being Determination.

24/26 Lyrics of Don't Forget and Raise Up Your Bat have these references. All of Don't Forget is pointing towards staying with someone in the dark, protecting them, and truths and promises. In Raise Up Your Bat, we get the heart being an ark, shining in the darkness, guiding the way.

23/26 'Her' implies a female, and the silhouette has both a human heart and a sword. If the other points are correct, one does fit that state. The Knight is the second hero. There are a few mentions / songs that could help to reinforce this idea that Dess has a human heart within her.

22/26 The human cage and soul and whatnot is a reference to either whatever player-controlled Kris is or the whole goner-maker sequence at the beginning. Those both fit and we don't have enough information to decide. Then that leaves the second hero, with hope corssed on her heart.

21/26 Ruling out the obvious, the dark prince really doesn't matter. Appears like Ralsei, could be Lancer, it doesn't really change much. With the 'and last, was the girl' comes with susie's symbol, her refusal to equip ribbons despite the prophecy saying so, it makes it clear that Susie is a +1.

20/26 3. Who are the heroes of the Prophecy / Legend? This culminates further in the three+1 heroes. "The first hero. The cage, with human soul and parts!" "The second hero. The girl, with hope crossed on her heart." "The third hero. The prince, alone in deepest dark..." "And last, was the girl."

19/26 It also explains why the Knight can exist outside of the Dark World as Dess' body with Kris' soul inside. IIRC, Dess was seen as a strong rebellious type, so it could explain how Dess' body could drag Undyne to the bunker. The promise then must be some sort of long con to reunify Dess.

18/26 This also explains the Asriel connection. Kris is close to Dess through Asriel, who was close to Dess. Kris is also said to hold Asriel very dearly, and they worked on the Hyperdeath image on the family computer together. That explains the sounds and damage type from Hyperdeath Asriel.

17/26 So, based on the promise to help Dess, the Knight could be Kris' soul using Dess' body. This keeps Dess in the dark but also explains the Knight's appearance. This explains where Kris' soul is and also the Knight's check dialogue and edgy anime attitude. Both Knight and Kris cross their arms.

16/26 The Knight is both Kris and Dess. The Kris the player controls does not have a soul, so then where is Kris' soul? At least a part of Dess is in the code, deep in the dark, but we know that souls and bodies can operate independently of each other, as Kris routinely takes out the player's soul.

15/26 Because of the Knight fight in ch. 3, we know that the Knight and Kris are obviously in cahoots. There's a plan going on, and it involves Dess, Kris, Carol, and the Knight, likely the last three working to achieve something with Dess. The idea that forms is this, then:

14/26 There's also the Knight fight in ch. 3 where checking the Knight comes back with 'couldn't learn anything.' that could point to Kris or Asriel, as not being able to learn anything means either you fail to learn or you already know everything.

13/26 As well, he has a connection to Dess in all of his items found in Dess' room, which would explain the Knight's appearance. But, all of that is just happy coincidences. -Kris is the last sensible choice. After all, the Knight does act a lot like Kris, including the edgy poses and attitude.

12/26 Too many things point to it not being Dess. But too many things also point to it being her. -Asriel is also a good pick. Information about him comes in the form of his fighting game character beign sword mage, and the Knight's sounds and attack damage are the same as Hyperdeath Asriel's.

11/26 But the entity in the code has way too much evidence being Dess. There's the part in ch. 3 about the black deer's sprite in the rpg minigame tied to a 'Toriel True/False' toggle file (which also ties her into the disappearance of Dess). She doesn't seem corrupted in the datamined dialogue.

10/26 In my eyes, 3 remain. -Dess is a good pick. The appearance, the ice motifs, bat-sword, that little guitar string )5 volume secret near the end of the ch. 4 Dark World where the hand pushes Kris back, and her connection to the Dark Worlds itself.

9/26 2. Who is the Knight? Personally, I started with Rudy being the knight. Weird chest cavity matches his chest issues, he's conveniently not there where the Knight is working, etc. But there's too much evidence otherwise. Carol is a red herring, clearly. Other choices are way too far-fetched.

8/26 A promise to help Dess. Either by goodwill or Kris being a root cause. That brings credence to the bind that the caller has on Kris at the end of ch.4, reminding them they promised (Don't Forget as well), so they wouldn't deviate from that promise. But how does Kris intend to help Dess?

7/26 So, the theory is thus: Kris had witnessed or been a part of something occurring to Dess, which end result caused her to be stuck in the code of the Dark World, whatever deeper darkness that might be. Asgore is roped into this, either witnessing it or assisting in the promise.

6/26 -Kris, through the Egg room content, has some sort of repressed memories. -Kris, Kris' Soul (if it exists), and the player Soul are 3 separate entities. -The whole datamining thing, how someone is trapped in the code / Dark World / abyss(?) and is calling out.

5/26 So we can connect lines to Kris and a promise, tied to Carol. Adding other information, we know: -Asgore left the police for an unspecified reason. -Asgore feels some sort of emotion ("We'll show them all" etc.) regarding some information only he knows. -Dess is missing.

4/26 1. What is 'the Promise?' There's many references to a promise / promises. Don't Forget's lyrics refer to 'The promise in our hearts' (plural), the line to Kris at the end of ch. 4 who we could believe is the same person on the phone throughout ch. 4 (I.E likely Carol Holiday).

3/26 Reminder that I'm spitballing and nothing is a 100% certainty. My personal theories (based on information, not others' theories) comes in 3 points: 1. What is 'the Promise?' 2. Who is the Knight? 3. Who are the heroes of the Prophecy / Legend? They all interconnect in different ways.

2/26 See ya gotta think outside the inner boundary lines of the box that Mr. Tobert "Cherenkov" Foxems does to get dumb ideas like this. It's just that amount of staying inside possible world canon while skirting the line on expectations that gives you where Toes McFoxes usually comes from.
