Confidently navigating life with the assumption that your prior harms will not bar you from future opportunities is a distinctly white male priviledge. As a black person in the US whose community is inspected for criminality, seeing the selective use of restorative justice is very jarring.

I think that lived experiences often come with knowledges that are invaluable & can grant authority for those directly affected by what others only study. May depend on the crowd Its gr8 when u have someone who is well read on a topic & lived xperience, but thats not always the case on the ground.

The only reason I cant agree is because Ive seen people use this argument to take power away from directly affected persons in marginalized spaces in organizing. Mainly well intentioned organizers from academia

Idk people born when 1999 came out could be entering high school now. If this was someone named in Control Id agree more, regardless of their fame, or even if this had a certain caliber of rapping. But these trading Diddy party bars & pot calling 🫖 black lines 👎😐. Redbull freestyle was good tho.

They definitely cut around it to censor, but you can see the flag in the background of Serena Williams dancing and for a little bit in the ultra wide shot for Turn the TV off. The dancer on top of the car.

Baltic, Irish,Italian, Albanian, have distinct heritage groups and cultural identities but in America the thing that matters most is their identification as pale skinned and that distinction puts people in a higher social status⚪. Same thing for brown people in the African diaspora but in reverse⚫.

I would add that this does not just apply to white Americans. The White colonial race distinction that America uses is enforced by ⚪ supremacy but it is recognized by pretty much everyone here consciously or not. Heritage is not erased but rather smothered by a racial caste label that takes priority

Matching a song's groove really is something that can only be accomplished by deep listening, instinct and imitation. I don't know if there will ever be a consistent formula. 9th Wonder once said that you know you're onto something when you are naturally nodding your head to what you made.
