88 years ago, there was an English guy who tried this. If we just let the aggressor have that one country, then surely he'll stop. Sounded nice. Avoiding a messy conflict. Saving the money it would cost. Letting people go on with their normal lives. It's really appealing. But it doesn't work.

The AfD, Marine Le Pen, etc. say we can just re-open relations with Russia. To what end? Why would Putin stop in such an event? Why would he not keep going? It's basically a green light to invade. Where would he stop? And why should he? He will only stop if he is resisted. It's the only option.

It's very similar with supporting Ukraine. Withholding support and keeping the money sounds nice. Not involving yourself in the conflict sounds nice. But not everyone can see what will happen if we don't support Ukraine. Putin will not stop with Ukraine. He will keep going. The Baltics will be next.

We don't ask people what the interest rate should be from the ECB. Because it's a complicated issue requiring expertise and careful deliberation. Regular people cannot determine what consequences follow a choice of a particular rate. It is a choice that should never be posed to them.

Bush gave us this exact sentence as a warning shot over 20 years ago. And everyone just ignored it. I honestly can't understand it. The first duty of a leader, of any nation or group of nations, is to preserve its security. And ensure against any risk or eventuality. Everyone truly failed at that.

Efter et par år viser det sig, sjovt nok, at det har de svært ved. De har ikke midlerne. De har ikke kompetencerne. Så der sker ingenting. Hvad gør Kennedy så? Han får en genial idé. Han gør det lovpligtigt at mennesket skal til månen! Og hver stat bliver straffet økonomisk hvis de ikke opnår det.
