iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Fun fact - started my teaching career at the same high school Tucker and Tom from Thursday graduated from 3 years earlier. It was right around that time that Understanding in a Car Crash was hitting MTV.

Thought it would be kick-ass to see Nephrologist at an early, midweek show. Turns out I'm just at the kidney doctor's office.

Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean is opening for them on their Philly date and i was like 🤯. I can't make it, but between them, ASM, and they've got Trha opening somewhere too (Bmore maybe?) talk about a stacked bill.

Not a horror movie. For some reason there was a huge resurgence in interest in King Tut in the US in the late 70s or early 80s and seeing images like this on PBS in between Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers scared me to the point of nightmares.

King Tut, ready to scare the shit out of 4-year-old me

Just read that tonight is the 25th anniversary of My Chemical Romance's first ever public show (10/1/2001). Turns out the venue, an Elks Lodge, was 2 miles from my apartment in NJ at the time. If i only knew...

Apparently I saw Teenage Fanclub 29 years ago tonight in Newcastle. I went to the (actual) pics I took during that time to see if i had any from the concert but i guess i left my SLR camera in the dorm (and didn't think to buy a disposable). Shit. Fucking great show though, as I recall.

There's a faint effect in the background of the clean solo in 'Sweet Child of Mine' that sounded exactly like my childhood house phone ringing. When I was 11-12, I stopped the tape at that point so many times because I thought I heard the phone go. I can still hear it to this day.
