Yesterday I was at a 70 years jubilee of my old university student union. Meeting a lot of people I last saw at the 50 year jubilee. Today I have no voice from singing all night. Felt like I was 25 again. It is amazing to just continue a conversation from 20 years ago like no time has passed.

My aunt recently lost her dog "Bamse" - a big st. Bernard. I asked if she planned on getting a new dog, and got a picture of the litter she is picking one up from in 5 weeks. Hers is the one on the far left - his name is also "Bamse". I'm so happy for her.

Just finished transcribing a bad photocopy of a local mans memoirs. He was born in 1844 and wrote it in 1923. He was a mason and built the local church and he was voted into the local council, which was unusual for a mason at the time. He also wrote about his devotion to his wife - very sweet.

Jens Sørensen Gulddal fortæller selv i sine erindringer følgende: "Når jeg nu skal til at skrive om mig selv, er det lidt vanskeligt. Nogen selvkritik har jeg måske nok, men om det er tilstrækkeligt uddybet, kan være vanskeligt for mig at afgøre, jeg ville nødigt afvige fra sandheden, så billedet blev smukkere, end det burde være. Jeg var ikke så flittig og ihærdig i min skoletid som min bror og heller ikke nær så begavet, dog var jeg ved min udgang af skolen anset for at være den dygtigste, og også til at spille bold og kegler var jeg en søgt makker. Jeg havde ikke så lidt ærgerrighed i den retning. Efter konfirmationen gik jeg på højskolen, og også dér hævdede jeg mig så nogenlunde som en af de yngste.

Om sommeren kom jeg med far som murer, og vi arbejdede sammen i nogle og tyve år. I de første under hans ledelse, men senere gik ledelsen over til mig, uden at det er muligt at påpege, hvornår jeg blev den ledende. Til læsning havde jeg megen lyst, det optog meget af min fritid og friede mig for at føre et driverliv. I nogle vintre var jeg kræmmer (ikke hosekræmmer), men det tiltalte mig ikke. Det var heller ikke helt lovligt, og jeg manglede vel også den fornødne frækhed.

Vinteren 1867-1868 var jeg igen nogle måneder på Uldum højskole. Da var Rasmus Nielsen lærer dér. Han købte senere Hammerum højskole, som forlængst er nedlagt. Han blev senere folketingsmand i mange år for Herningkredsen og er endnu levende, da dette skrives. Tillige var Lund lærer dér. Han blev senere lærer i Ø. Ørum og er forlængst død. Disse to i forening drev højskolen i nogle år, mens ejeren, E.M. Rottwitt var folketingsmand.

I love finding old stories in our local history archive, and I'm writing about our local pharmacy. The pharmacy started in 1873 in a building owned by the local watchmaker - rented for six months. When the watchmaker retired many years later (in 1907), he went to live with the pharmacist's family.

Fredagen den 24de Maj afsluttedes en Handel i Uldum By, som vil være af Interesse for mange her i Egnen, idet Urmager Jensen solgte sin Ejendom og sin Forretning og nu om kort Tid forlader den By, hvori han i 49 Aar har haft sin Virksomhed. Laurs Jensen hører til de stille i Landet. Daarlig til Fods, som han har været, kom han ikke meget ud blandt Folk; men til Gengæld kom der saa mange flere til ham. Han var nemlig en Mand, der var værd at besøge og faa en Samtale med, og det var ikke blot jævnaldrende, men ogsaa de yngre, ja de helt unge, nemlig Børnene, han havde til Venner. Nu er han bleven syg, saa han ikke mere kan arbejde, men maa rejse over til Odense hos Apoteker Eggers, den Familie, i hvis Hus han i over 30 Aar, mens den var i Uldum, spiste sin Mad og færdedes, som var han ældste Søn i Huset. Vi, som kender Forholdene, ved, at han der vil finde den gode og kærlige Pleje, vi faa inderlig under ham.Jensen er født i Ildved 1836, kom i Lære i Vindelev, hvor han blev i 8 Aar, indtil han i Foraaret 1858 flyttede her til Uldum. Den Ejendom, han nu har solgt, købte han dog først 1873. I den begyndte Apoteket, indtil den ny Bygning paa modsatte Side af Vejen godt 1/2 Aar efter blev færdig. Straks efter blev Jensen angrebet af en Lungehindebetændelse, og under dette Engeleje var det, Fru Eggers første Gang kom til at pleje ham, og derigennem knyttedes det Venskabsbaand imellem ham og Familien Eggers, som endnu trods Afstanden „Uldum-Odense“ bestaar sin Prøve. „Mit Liv her i Uldum har været rigt paa Glæder“, siger Jensen, „mange af mine Venner er gaaede bort; men jeg mindes dem, saaledes som de sad her i min Stue og talte, og ny Venner har jeg ogsaa vundet“, føjer han til med sit stille Smil, hvori der lyser saa megen Taknemlighed. Ja, — han var en af de faa, der ikke glemte at sige Tak for det gode, der mødte ham. Today is my last day of work before vacation. Yesterday I found a forever home for my remaining fosters and they leave today. Together. A great day. A tough day. So happy I could place them together in a loving family home. #fosterkitten #fostercat

It is hot, so I gave the foster kittens their own water feature/reflecting pool in the living room. They love it. Play with it and drink from it. Hopefully I can keep the algae out.

Yes, I was woken up at 5 by the new foster kittens. I am experienced enough to know that you shouldn’t feed them early in the morning (or they will keep waking you up early), so I just kept them company for a bit, and then went back to bed.

Today my foster kitten Elsa is moving out. I will miss her so much. She is the most loving kitten we have fostered and sometimes she just tries to melt into me. She even follows me into the shower. This is the most difficult part of fostering, but I have loved every moment with her.

Spent my evening in great company with other passionate people thinking about how we can attract new people to our village. We have so much to offer in a village with just 1200 people. Nature nearby, all the activities you can handle and cheap housing (near “big” cities).

A very early picture of my house - taken ~100 years ago. I grew up partly in the house at the back (my father's house) and I now live in the house at the front. Both were built by my great grandfather, who used one for his residence and the other for his business.

"Maybe", our foster kitten, moved out on Wednesday and I miss her so. She came to us back in November. Got a family in January and then moved back in February. We spoilt her and she got a bit big. "A robust girl" is what they called her at the shelter.

Maybe behind her foster sibling Silver. This was the first picture I took of them when they moved in with us. They were so scared.

Maybe after 4 months with us. Such a beauty.

Today is a difficult, but happy day. My #fosterkitten who we first got back in November is moving to her new family. She briefly had a family in February, but they returned her. I have a good feeling about this family.

Our two foster kittens have been introduced. So far so good. The small one has put on 500 grams in a week. She was so weak she couldn’t eat or drink by herself, but she is all better now. #fosterkittens

Today my husband found out he is starting his new gig tomorrow, so we had a lot to do. Visited the local zoo, bought and collected 500kg new flooring for our upcoming home library/workshop area, coded a few features for our escape rooms, played with cats and went to a concert.

Yesterday we picked up another foster kitten ~15 weeks. She had been left outside and was trying to get inside a home where they could not keep her. So skinny it hurts to look at. She purrs all the time and loves company. Not afraid of people at all. We named her Elsa after my step-grandmother.
