It did that thing again where i found a decent deal on a computer, bought it, and by the time i got home the price jumped to "I couldn't have afforded it." levels. Apparently the laptop i got now sells for 4499$.

Laptop upgrade! Hopefully it'll be more VR friendly. I'm in the process of stripping Win11 down and killing all the AI crap before i'm letting it touch the internet.

I'm annoyed at how i could get a laptop with the CPU/GPU i want (for a bit too much money) but with 32gb of RAM and 1Tb of storage. Or get one with not quite the CPU/GPU i want, but for slightly cheaper and with 64gb of RAM and 2Tb of storage.

It's amazing just how worse google maps is getting with each trip. I've been in Germany since Monday, it still won't accept that i'm not in Japan and show me local results. It's also 90% of the time failing to show me saved location. I keep having to enter the hotel and worksite location manually...

This is neat, Narita has an open outdoor space in the airport to go and watch planes from. … it’s a good escape from the airport crowds, it has actual seating, and also, PLANES!

I'm having a weird brain moment 'cause... I've been all over the world by now, and it's all so... Normal? Different flavors of the same stuff. It's not bad, but... Part of me still hoped that i'd find somewhere different enough in the right way that i'd feel not so out of place anymore.

Today i had to make a round trip from Nagoya to Tokyo to go get a coworker from the airport. I'm getting pretty comfortable with getting lost in Japan, it feels odd. Also, there's a lot of city. So much of it. It seems like it never ends.
