I commissioned art from @them3j14.bsky.social in June of last year, and in fifteen months I haven't received a single response from them of any kind, let alone any sort of update. They still post regularly and respond to messages from others - they simply refuse to speak to me for unknown reasons.

Me: Hey there! I'm looking for someone to commission if you're interested
Them: Really? Sure!
Them: What'd you need?
Me: imgur.com/a/IuGHQ24 I need more art of my elfy girl Rebecca here, this chibi is cute but it's about all I've got - how about a full body? (If you're up for doing a nsfw alt as well I'd love to see her naked 🎵if you wanted her age for that, she's 23)
Them: She seem lovely
Them: Can do
Me: The reference works fine for pose and expression too but you're welcome to play with those a bit as long as she looks bored/lazy
Me: I can pay anytime you're ready unless you needed anything else!

Them: Alrighty then ;)
Them: For a full-body piece + alt overall it's $28 usd
Them: All good?
Me: Ye ✅Want my e-mail to send an invoice then?
Them: Yee please do
Them: www.paypal.com/paypalme/die...
Them: There it is
Me: Ah! I can do that too, just a moment
Me: Sent 💸
Them: Received! Thank you very much ^^
Them: I truly appreciate your support :'D
Me: You're welcome! Enjoy the tip 🎵Take your time if you need it, and I look forward to updates!
Them: Sure, I'll send them though your email because Bluesky doesn't allow sending media

Might have to take awhile but I'll let you know how things are going.😎

Me: hey there! you doing okay?
Tue, October 21, 2025 at 10:39 AM
Me: hey, I haven't heard from you in a while - is everything alright?
Sat, January 31 at 6:45 AM
Me: Hey, so I haven't heard anything from you about my commission in over half a year now? I don't mean to be a bother but I'd really like to check in and make sure I'm not being forgotten or ghosted or anything so I would appreciate a response even if you haven't made any progress yet
Wed, June 10 at 1:37 PM
Me: hey, just trying another DM in case you respond this time
Fri, July 24 at 12:01 PM
Me: This is starting to stretch my ability to give you the benefit of the doubt. You're still posting art fairly regularly yet you've somehow failed to respond to several DMs (including one I sent on twitter), an e-mail, a reply, and a post in which I tagged you. The only thing that still makes me assume this is unintentional is the fact that you haven't blocked me - but even then, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to think.

I'd really appreciate literally any form of communication from you, whether you have any progress on my commission to report or not. I'm also willing to accept a refund if you can't complete my request after all, but that would also require you to respond.

Dear artists, You NEED to keep in contact with your commissioners. That's right, all of them. If they paid you money, you MUST communicate with them and tell them what's going on. You cannot just ghost someone for months and months after promising a quick turnaround and expect them to be happy!
