PotiFEX server farm in the Vatican basement go brrrrrrr

Myka @puzzledpolygon.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

The struggle with writing an album I see barely anyone talk about is that the quality of the tracks you write will naturally improve the longer you work on it. So eventually you have to revisit the older tracks to keep even a semblence of coherency and it becomes infinite and you never get done...

Myka @puzzledpolygon.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

1. Gross, dramatic. B-horror on a blockbuster budget. 2. Great setting, and performances, stellar writing. 3. Waste of nice visuals. Insulting to queer horror. Dumb plot, flat characters, odd end. 4. Everything happens while nothing happens. A confusing mess. #letterboxedfriday #lastfourwatched

Ah yes. Because Al has famously never done anything questionable or inappropriate with full-body photos of people...

It's so interesting how these Al guys expressly seek to create the ultimate echo-chamber while constantly accusing anyone who doesn't like their products of existing in one 🙃

Have I played “Control Resonant”? Sorry…I’m too busy reading the story of a man who “Controls Rocinante”…that’s right, Miguel Cervantes’ immortal tale “Don Quixote de La Mancha”. So you enjoy your strange “Federal Bureau”…I’ll be delighting in the adventures of Sancho Panza and his “Friendly Burro”

Finally finished CONTROL Resonant after 43 hours and to say I'm proud to have been a small part of this project would be an understatement. Aside from hard surface art I was lucky enough to contribute some voice work as well as 4 pieces of in-world music to an amazing game made by an amazing team.

1. Overly edgy. Nonsensical. Annoyingly, willfuly ambiguous. 2. Drawn out and beautifully shot yet surprisingly disappointing. 3. Incredibly layered, highly entertaining and viscerally glamorous! 4. Silly script, awful characters. Impossible to take seriously. #letterboxedfriday #lastfourwatched

I see! Very understandable! I love it, personally, but I also couldn't listen to it always. Sometimes it would certainly be a bit much, even for me 🙈

Totally fair, I think they're not neccessarily a lot of people's cup of tea. Yes, such good art! All of their album covers are super sick as well! For me, this kind of music has me go

1. Emotionally violent with impeccable atmosphere. 2. Fun film with a very goofy finale and a comical villain. 3. Great set and sound design, decent premise, silly romantic subplot. 4. Interesting character dynamics and great performances! Lovely ending! #letterboxedfriday #lastfourwatched

1. A well told story about grief and desperation with a twist that isn't one. 2. Asks interesting questions, gives very silly answers. 3. Visually gorgeous dive into the madness of mourning. Beautiful ending. 4. Upsetting, visceral, uncomfortable, statisfying. #letterboxedfriday #lastfourwatched

My partner (who is not a musician) sitting me down and saying "play me the album you're working on start to finish, I want to hear it and talk about it" almost made me cry today I stg. Having a partner who properly appreciates your passions is incredibly underrated.

This! This was always the way all of this was going. Making personal devices unaffordable was not an "unwanted side-effect" of Al, it's part of the plan. Taking access to hardware away means reducing literacy, erasing whole art forms, removing information access for many. Games are a part of that.

1. Insulting to the franchise and the art of filmmaking. Terribly awful. 2. Fun, loud, stylish. Mia Goth amazing as always. 3. Impeccable vibes, atmosphere, music. Great protagonist. 4. Classic redneck-cannibal horror. Unlikeable characters and very fucked up. #letterboxedfriday #lastfourwatched

A human rights org groveling at the feet of vile, transphobic shitheads who are working to have rights taken away from humans is bonkers! The olympic-level mental gymnastics it takes to issue an apology to people like this while saying "we're determined to defend the rights of trans people" is WILD!

Ouch...sorry to hear that even the bonus features are crappy! Hard agree though! Delivering a great, feature-length video about how and why the movie you just saw is an absolute train-wreck as bonus material would not only be fun but also probably end up improving media literacy levels over all 🙈

110

Myka @puzzledpolygon.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

I can imagine that can actually make it somewhat fun especially with others who are in on that. The question of "how this was allowed to happen" is a great one! It's such a fascinating compound-failure with so many people involved. You'd think someone with some say would have intervened AND YET...

110

Myka @puzzledpolygon.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Oof, condolences friend. This really seems to be one of the rare films where seeing it in a theater makes the experience worse. I'm guessing the only good thing about that was that you all could talk about how terrible it was afterwards.
