It's finally time! After almost a year since the project began, we're ready to post the first two pages tomorrow! And in the wake of that momentous news... have a gyaru Laya, I guess. #PutridumSoli #announcement #sticker Art by @dictcola.bsky.social

"Just as the sparks of new life emerge from the flame, so too shall they return..." A commission from the immeasurably excellent @drawloverlala.bsky.social, it was an honor to have her draw Captain Ellanna Lightburn for us! We only hope our story will do her art justice! #Commission #comic #ocart

Ellanna Lightburn standing in front of a field of fire with her blade drawn, looking eerily calm and staring back at the audience ominously.

Just a Laya bust to remind you all that we're still kicking! Things are a bit slow right now as we prepare to start releasing issue 1, but we promise it'll be worth the wait! #PutridumSoli #ocart #webcomic Art by @dictcola.bsky.social

Some High School AU fanart made by @ianwafflez.bsky.social! No matter the universe, Laya is always eager to emulate her senpai. But this time, instead of knighthood she adopts the gyaru style and the color red! Let's hope Ellanna doesn't send her down the wrong path... #ocart #au #fanart #comic

Our next order of business is to set up a Patreon, where we plan to release two pages apiece on a bi-weekly schedule. After that, we plan to host the comic on various websites (including here) in order to cast as wide a net as possible. Hope you can all look forward to it!

010

Putridum Soli @putridumsoli.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

That being said, the comic won't be nothing but mindless cruelty. The characters will suffer greatly, but never pointlessly. The world is grim, but never hopeless. If you can stomach what we have planned, hopefully you can genuinely enjoy the story within!

Putridum Soli @putridumsoli.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

As we said earlier, this is planned to be a self-published high fantasy webcomic (with physical copies down the line) intended for mature audiences. Despite the cute and lovely art provided by @dictcola.bsky.social, the story gets dark quick and is absolutely NOT meant for kids.

Putridum Soli @putridumsoli.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

First off, here are the black and white versions of our new logo. Following some feedback on our project name possibly being too obscure/convoluted, we also decided to add the "Seeds of Change" subtitle so readers have something simpler and catcher to remember.

Putridum Soli @putridumsoli.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

Hello, everyone! As the last piece of preliminary work we needed, we commissioned a talented artist (who wishes to remain anonymous) to design this lovely logo for us! And with work finally ready to begin on the issue proper, it's a good time to refresh everyone's memories!

The script for issue 1 is finally complete! At a whopping 88 pages, this will be a monster of an introduction split into 3 acts. Don't mistake the length for a slow and meandering pace, and be prepared for the ride of your life... but for now, rest easy. #comic #art Art by @dictcola.bsky.social

Laya has always idolized Ellanna, perhaps a bit too much. Despite how much stronger she's gotten, is her mind what's holding her back from reaching her full potential? Make sure to keep rooting for our Vice Captain as her journey goes on! #PutridumSoli #ocart #comic Art by @dictcola.bsky.social

Also, surprise lore dump: most humans can't cast magic without a spellbook or some sort of other magical conduit, but Ellanna can do so with her bare hands! It's unknown how she can do such a thing, but no doubt it contributed to her promotion to captain.

Putridum Soli @putridumsoli.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

There's only one thing Laya hates more than humiliating herself in front of the captain, and that's disappointing her! But don't worry, even though the kitchen was lost the pork itself turned out surprisingly edible. #ocart #webcomic #PutridumSoli #yuri Art by @dictcola.bsky.social

As you might expect, Laya stuck to Ellanna like glue from the very beginning. Becoming Vice Captain didn't change that at all, except now she has to be more professional about it. Bonus points if you spot the reference! #ocart #webcomic #PutridumSoli #yuri Art by @dictcola.bsky.social
