The humming of a bumblebee
catches my curiosity
and then I see the flying sheep
pass by, like a Red Arrow pilot
that didn’t make the team.
It performs a helicopter landing
on a bright pink flower petal,
slurps down a cosmopolitan
then covers themself in love.
Before the sky bursts above,
rinsing life with summer showers.

Hi. First posts are scary, but I’m slowly returning to poetry outside of fandom spaces and will start sharing my personal work here. This is one of my latest poems, “Twenty-Four Seconds.” #poetry #poem

Twenty-four seconds
turned to twenty-four hours,
became twenty-four days,
rolled into twenty-four weeks.

Thundered through time,
reaching twenty-four months,
that carried us onward
to make it twenty-four years.

Close to a quarter of a century—
and more than half my life—
we’ve spent twenty-four rotations
trying to figure out our lives.

But even after
twenty-four forevers,
I would give up all that matters
just to spend another
twenty-four seconds
with you by my side.
