Hoping my friends to the north are safe, and I'm hoping to see as many of you as I can when I visit in April for VGM Con! Don't forget, carry salt with you. It melts ice.

I thought taking an extra day off this weekend (because I have to work next Saturday) would be relaxing... Nope. Between yet another murder by federal agents up north, as well as the fire alarm going off in my building yesterday, this weekend has kinda sucked.

It was so nice to finally meet you, even if it was just for a short time! Yes, day off tomorrow. OMG I still need it. This mag kicked my ass.

010

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 13/01/2026

MAG was incredible, and I'm incredibly sad that it's over... What I am not sad about is I'm home with my kitty, and I slept in my own bed last night. For more than just a few hours. And I have tomorrow off too.

I actually have something for you. I'll try to find you after TC

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the subtle homestar secret theme this year...

Been awhile. Again. Sitting at the vgmcom both at magfest before rehearsal starts at 3. Hope everyone is as well as they can be...

Man.... Trivia night 3 of 10 for the month of May... There's a LOT of live trivia for me this month. Also sad I can't get up to MSP next Friday to see the TCGSO play their show, thanks to a gig of my own (not VGM related). Also, stay tuned, some new pics coming in, and they are awesome!

Why am I not surprised Tim has a Danganronpa fic....

Shit. That either means special trip out East (that I probably can't afford atm), OR I have to wait until January....

For those struggling with the recent news and how to react to it, here's a great way to think about it now: ProtonJon is an entertainment brand. Claire is the woman behind it, and she has been for the past 18 years. Love you @protonjon.bsky.social, and I wish peace for you moving forward.

VGM Con is always a great time, it's just short, that's all. All conventions are short. But someone is definitely happy I'm home... Thanks for a great time music nerds. See you next year

I'm really happy that I'm playing more again. And that there are recordings to prove it (although Ed made the Contra bones sound REALLY good) youtu.be/bpaCAu5dYv4?...

I've been playing a lot of Metroid Dread Randomizer, and I've been getting *kinda* good at it. Latest run was a PB by quite a bit... Blue time is my RTA, started at the point I pressed the button to start, and ended at when the cut scene took me toward the ship. Holy fuck.

From what I saw on the bracket, not only was Coconut Mall eliminated in Round 1, it was eliminated by the eventual champion!

today I walked to my nearest Culver's. I wish they were physically here, but I can feel them with me. I miss them, but I know they're enjoying whatever it is they're doing wherever it is they're doing it.

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

Going to Culver's was a simple thing our family did. It was where we could sit away from home and talk or just be in each other's presence. After Mom died, Dad and I would walk to the Culver's in Sun Prairie. It was our escape. I really haven't been back inside a Culver's since Dad died.

I hate getting up before the sun. Yet, I do it a couple of times a year specifically for this purpose. Judging some Brass chops at Solo & Ensemble this morning. Let's see if we can make some awesome music today.

Also literally just sat through a one note performance. It was supposed to be Hall of the Mountain King. Instead it was some low tuba note repeated multiple times...

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 01/03/2025

I hate when I'm judging kids at our Solo & Ensemble events and we get that one kid that clearly doesn't care. It's hard to hand them the rating they clearly deserve, because I don't wanna be *that* guy... Still did it though...

10. The perfect date? One where we go and have fun. I'm usually down for things like Bowling or Mini Golf. Maybe going to a game. Something casual and simple. Just dinner can be too intense, and just drinks might give the wrong impression.

020

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 21/02/2025

Wow. That was... a show. 29 teams, about 150 people. I'm dead tired... Kinda glad I took last night off, but definitely want to get back at it next Wednesday.

9. Uh, damn. Kind of a boring answer here, as I have precisely zero piercings, and an aversion to pointy things in my general direction so that's not likely to change.

100

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 11/02/2025

8. Regrettably, I'm not much of a reader either. Of Mice and Men was a good one for me.

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 10/02/2025

7. This is a tough one, because I'm not a very avid movie watcher. I would probably say The Fifth Element. However there are a number of movies I will quote incessantly. Ace Ventura comes to mind.

100

PurpleLink33 - Scott @purplelink33.bsky.social · 10/02/2025

6. I think this answers your question.

5. I like Purple and Zelda. The number comes from a Wisconsin football legend, Ron Dayne, who wore 33. I started wearing it for softball back when I worked at Disney and haven't looked back.

3. Around the 6' range, maybe a touch shorter. Idk.

I saw it on your profile first. So I blame you. It's good blame.
