I'll be going off socials for a while since my favorite artists aren't here much while everyone else in synthfam is split between Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon.

My favorite album of 2025, full of Miami Vice and GTA vibes anywhere. It's Cosmopolis by one of the synth legends @miaminights1984.bsky.social . 😎🤘🤘🤘

My favorite song of 2025, one of the best synthrock songs ever, albeit a cover, from Chroma Cloud. 😎🤘🤘🤘

Unpopular opinion: Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 is the darkest and most exciting episode of the whole series IMO.

010

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 22/12/2025

For the first and only time of the century, I'll be watching Stranger Things on Christmas Day rather than the usual five basketball games and a few American football games. Netflix was nice enough to release new episodes of ST on Christmas Day. Can't wait for the series finale on New Year's Eve. 😎🤘

Unpopular opinion: Never play the number 67 in any lottery. It is hoodoo.

Unpopular opinion: Edan Dover is going to be even more popular than Ollie Wride when it comes to his new music projects of Deane and Edvn. He's IMO Ollie Wride 2.0 with a bit of Lionel Messi.

A rare blimp flew over the suburbs today, even on top of my home. Has the words Marty Supreme, Dream Big. It's actually a sports comedy movie coming this Christmas in theaters. But the question remains whether if anyone other than Asians would watch a table tennis movie?

Unpopular opinion: Queen of Eight's debut album of the same name is probably the most underrated hip-hop album of all time. Why? Because it has synthwave and cyberpunk written all over the rapping. Mainstream music deserves this!

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 08/10/2025

A decade ago, Kobe's final game as a Laker and for his NBA career ended on April 13, 2016 with 60 pts against the Jazz. Now I imagine if LeBron James final regular-season game as a Laker (if they can go to the playoffs thereafter) on April 12, 2026..... will score 60+ points against the Jazz? 🤔🤔🤔

000

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 07/10/2025

Unpopular opinion: The Midnight's Sentinels is IMO their worst song and one of the worst synthwave songs of all time. Whoever sang that autotuned rap needs to be fired and it wasn't Tyler Lyle's voice. Stop putting junkwave rap what all other mainstream songs have today.

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Unpopular opinion: Leon Lett is probably still the Father of Premature Celebrations in NFL history.😅 Two weeks ago, the Indianapolis Colts did it and today the Arizona Cardinals did it. Both the Colts and Cardinals lost their games. C'Mon Man!

Unpopular opinion: The CHP, LA County Sheriff and LAPD should have implemented grapplers in their strongest vehicles to shorten car pursuits. Some other states in a few police agencies have already have them and they are effective.

I don't fucking care if Nintendo Switch 2 is the best selling console of all time, it came with a lying catch. They pulled what Valve did on Steam, instead of saying owning the device and using their stuff, you actually have a license to use it. Break the ToS and they disable it.

Two nights ago, I dreamt of Lady Gaga this time in a more casual fashion but in the same age as I am. Strange why I was living once again in a luxury environment, something I seldom landed on. There were other people IDK who they were. Apparently no singing in this one.

Is it just me #synthfam or Nina Blair's the only one in the synthwave community talking about family, love and cats instead of music? She's the only person to have ever said that to this day. No one else talks about it, though I do know most of them have private lives.

The Squad Game ending is a fucking disaster. It also sets up a possible American series version of it after Cate Blanchett's surprising cameo. I won't watch another terrible TV show where enemies have won. Mission Impossible was not like that.

RIP Lalo Schifrin💔 A music legend of themes ranging from Cool Hand Luke (the one that made the news theme to ABC's Eyewitness News history) to that epic catchy Mission Impossible theme that's still heard today. He will be missed.🙏

Mission Impossible (8) Last Reckoning is a great movie albeit the tedious scenes. My criticism is that it should have NOT been produced like Harry Potter The Deathy Hallows, The Hunger Games Mockingjay and Twilight Breaking Dawn, all of which had some redundant pointless scenes.

000

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

What I love about that "A Working Man" movie is the opening credits. That's what a Call of Duty Modern Warfare movie should have been but never happened! I would put The Transporter first in a Call of Duty movie over The Rock since he's still expendable. 😁🤘

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 20/05/2025

Unpopular opinion: The Clark vs Reese rivalry is just a fad for the short term. I would never compare that to Magic vs Bird. The real rivalry will soon be Ponytail Pete vs Paige Buckets.

000

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 12/05/2025

Unpopular opinion: The Pointer Sisters' Hot Together is such an underrated track that it should have gotten more airplay. I haven't heard such a riveting 80s track since Eddie Murphy's Party All The Time! Glad it's going to be in GTA 6 radio station.

000

PurpleG86 @purpleg86.bsky.social · 11/05/2025

Unpopular opinion: Netflix, Amazon or Lionsgate should pick this one up instead of a cheap indie publisher, let alone some indie production company suing the others and held hostage to a finished but shelved movie since 2019. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDD6...

So I played the full version of Tempest Rising and guess what? It even works on low-end cards like my GeForce 1050 Ti. Surprisingly the game runs perfectly on maxed settings under 1080p with FSR3 High Quality on but Frame Gen off. It's the only UE5 game I can run with less lag.
