I’m not sure, but what I am aware of is the origins of homophobia in the broader world mostly come down to the colonization of the global south. Patriarchy and white supremacy were used as a means to divide and create identity classes that would fight amongst eachother instead of the opressor

The far right is crowing about how a survey says that fewer young people are identifying as LGBTQ. Well of course, they’ve created an environment where admitting you’re LGBTQ is dangerous. A better measure would look at support for LGBTQ rights among young people.
