Wanted you to see how it starts. Will post later when the whole place is blooming. Flower markets are so cool. Feel like a kid in the candy store. Some people rescue cats and dogs. I’ve already 2 rescue gooseberry bushes. My friend was destroying em so I dag em up and transported to safe haven🙄

@crinoidsoup.bsky.social We have 4 Seasons in Finland. But sometimes during the Spring, you can experience all 4 during the couple of days. Like few days cold & snowing, this evening sun shine +7 C. Went to a flower market but decided to wait till it’s little bit warmer. Bought tons of seeds though

Found it. No wonder I’ve never heard of washing eggs. It’s prohibited in Finland by the law. The law secures the eggs have their natural protective layers intact and are as safe as possible for the consumers. No wonder you guys say our eggs taste funny🙄

Eggs were on the table just for photo 🙄 Now they are chilling in the cooler. I read some where the eggs should be stored in 12 to 14 C so the regular refrigerator is far too cold for them. Or do you call it cooler (a refrigerator-like appliance that cools food, but is not as cold as a refrigerator)?

Old ladies had baked all kinds of goodies there. I was supposed to buy only the pie from them but was so embarrased to hear they ask only 5 € for it so I had to buy parmesan cookies also 🙄 Oh, and those eggs. Huge white organic eggs only 8 €/30 pcs. Asked the seller’s number and will buy again.

Yeah this is tough question. I used to work in a jail with rapists and pedophiles, and from that work I’m pretty much custom to think we shouldn’t punish people twice. What bothers me most in cancel culture is this ”never forgiving” tone. I believe people can change and change for better.

I have mixed feelings about cancel culture. Like Kevin Spacey was one of my favourite actors but can I say it anymore? I think The Usual Suspects is still one of the best movies ever made and his performance is outrageously good.

I’d go nuts 😂 I went to see Foo Fighters few years ago but I had to leave because I couldn’t stand the crowd. Not been on gigs ever since. I think I could go to a small clubs maybe but those mega concerts are not for me anymore. I’m too old and too comfy at home I guess. Still listening music loud🙄

Neil Gaiman is probably the name I shouldn’t mention (sexual assault allegations), but can’t help I love his books. American Gods is still one of the best TV series I’ve ever seen, especially the first season. Has written also about Norse mythology.

It’s really hard to fathom how big your country is. There are only 6 cities in Finland with over 200K inhabitants. Helsinki is the biggest with nearly 700K but the second biggest Espoo is only half of Helsinki. My longest move was around 250 km🙄

When I was kid I loved Nordic mythology, folklore and stories about elves and fairies. I even made a presentation at school of them, I was 4 or 5th grader. Only then I found I was the weird kid with a strange hobby. I kept on reading but wasn’t very open about my interests anymore 🙄

I’ve moved so many times I’ve lost count. Many times for studies or work but there’ve been times I’ve given up for greater good. Like when we were living in Helsinki and my hub wanted to move nearer to his old mum. I don’t understand people who never move anywhere for any reason. We are not trees🤔

Ooh, gothic fantasy. You’re full of surprises 😂 I used to read lot of scifi, not so much fantasy. In recent years I try to balance with fiction and nonfiction. Love Nordic noir & true crime. Read recently this book👇 funny mix of cozy mystery and history. Surprisingly, find it quite entertaining

Yep. They tell in the article they have 2 rescue dogs. And definitely some sacrifies but the dude seems to be happy. Says he has now more money to spend from the salary since the Finnish society covers some expenses people have to pay themselves in the US. He is also learning some Finnish 😂

He says they took only 4 suitcases of stuff. The article hints they sold house and other assets but it’s not so straightforward of the costs. Plus they both have jobs. His employer offered him a position in Finland and missus is still working for same employer she used to, remote I guess.

Oh, no. Hope he’s better. My hub was one week off from work but he’s getting better, still some cough. But his mother is really ill. She’s been soon one week in a hospital due to this nasty virus. She got pneumonia and is now on i.v. antibiotics.
