Earlier this summer I decided to commit to one of the craziest weeks of my life: GBUS and Inferno B back to back, both for the first time. I am incredibly glad I did it. I met so many fantastic people and found a sense of belonging and brotherhood at both that I have almost never felt before.

I am genuinely in awe of how much I’ve been able to grow over this year, and how special the Chicago kink/fetish/BDSM scene is. At the end of Geartunes I was talking to a fellow Chicagoland native. Both of us have considered moving elsewhere, but after finding this community that seems insane.

And that’s a wrap on @chifetish-wknd.bsky.social 2026! This event hit me harder than expected because last year’s edition was the 1st big kink event I attended. I remember how terrified I was walking into Jackhammer for the opening party. Just a year later, I entered DS and knew >50% of the crowd.
