From an online friend, Ganlu Master 7-Star Orchid Fragrance Dan Cong. On the first sip it's immediately obvious this is the best dan cong I have ever had. With the leaves in a hot gaiwan, the lid carries strong florality with a caramel round-off and an almost nutty note. #teasky

Having some "333" Shan Lin Xi High Mountain Taiwan Oolong today from Floating Leaves. This isn't really my wheelhouse, but it's nice. Bright floral note upfront over a buttery and thick body. Very soft and relaxed. I love with these rolled oolongs how you get left with big old leaves. #teasky

2026 @white2tea.bsky.social Swerve Like the Suzuca, this one is charcoal roasted. In my experience, shai hong material really does not have the oomph to stand up to a heavy roast in the way that sheng does, so I was a bit worried, but compared to suzuca this is less "loud" in all regards. #teasky

2011 Jin Dayi today. This isn't the first time I have had this one, but I have a chunk of this as a group sample buy online. For Dayi, it's got a surprising bit of smoke on the nose, but in the cup it is much more subdued. It's present, but it gives way to the characteristic Dayi fruit note #teasky

Today it's @white2tea.bsky.social 2024 Critical Thoughts. The wet leaf is definitely less sweet than others and the tea itself presents with a soft herbaceousness which gives way to a strong savory character with a bit of sourness. I see where the "tomato soup" note comes from on the page #teasky

@white2tea.bsky.social 2026 Suzuca I have not had a wuyi roast sheng before and I was a bit trepidatious but I find this one to be rather interesting. The wet leaf gives strong tropical fruit scent with the obvious charcoal roast over top. The roast doesn't feel intense, but pretty moderate #teasky

Having a bit of a sample of @white2tea.bsky.social 2025 scrye today. I really enjoyed dualist and ended up tonging it so I picked up samples of a spread of their hongs. I have come to really love these sun-dried shai black teas. Nice thickness, a lot of syrupy sweetness, and dried fruits. #teasky

I made sweet tea out of T8653. This is a cursed invention but it works better than you think it would. Too much sugar though. I did 10-11g boiled for 8 mins and then 2 cups of sugar. Next time I'd probably try and do half. It's bbq flavored lmao #teasky

had an insanely excellent and special tea today. 2026 Yibang Cat Ears from Listening to Leaves. It has a very strong fragrance which you can get off the cake dry. off the wet leaf, surprisingly, it is not very noticeable, but upon sniffing the cup or first tasting it really embeds itself.

The tea cake - the leaves are much narrower smaller than usual. The cake has mixed green-brown-and-white earthy tones

Anyways - so 8653 is the general recipe; Originally started in 86, with mid-sized leaf, from Xiaguan. T8653 is usually the most popular, and the "T" is something Xiaguan uses to represent that they are "Iron Cakes", which is to say they compress the absolute shit out of them. This can affect aging

Having 2011 Jin Dayi today. Not a ton to say about this one, it's quite smoky for a Dayi but the taste is quite clear for a factory tea and beyond the smokiness there is a pleasant fruity flavor... Apricot maybe? It's pretty good. Don't think I'd cake it #teasky

Today 2010 WWSF Fall Walong. I haven't had many specifically Fall teas, but I have heard them characterized as having less flavor than spring but with more scent. This one definitely fits the mold - it's got the Manzhuan scent: Resinous and vegetal. I'm picking up a bit of Yiwu sweet off the end too

Today I'm having some of the Teas We Like 8972 Naked Brick. It's called naked cause it doesn't have a wrapper. I picked this one out cause it's pretty similar to the XG one from Monday, in fact it even gets a mention in the listing on that one. Similarly HK stored this one brews up dark #teasky

in these examples, "b" is the name of the command, for "break", telling the computer to stop at a certain point. "$" is a modifier which is used to indicate that any value that follows is in hexadecimal and not decimal. Similarly, "+" lets us know that any value that follows is an offset; that it is in relation to where we are currently and not to an exact point in memory. So, if we break one down we have:

b: a command
" ": a space, nothing
+: this value is an offset
$: this value hexadecimal
50: A numeric value.

Because this is an offset, we know to operate from our relative position (0x808000); then we will add the hexadecimal value 50; That puts us at 0x808050. If we did b +50 we would be at 0x808032.

Basically, it will let you load a ROM up and then it will freeze immediately, so that you can see what's going on in memory and how the state of the machine is changing while you step through instructions. It's really handy for debugging when you are doing something wrong under the hood.

For a really basic example here's a very simple assembly program: NOP, "No OPeration", followed by a "SToP" to tell the CPU to stop executing any commands. This gets converted into the opcodes 0xEA (Decimal 234) and 0xDB (219). When the CPU starts, it will point to the first thing and run in order.

The majority of SNES roms are "LoROMs" - they are 4 MB or less in size. A few games are HiROM, and then afaik only one game is ExHiROM which is Star Ocean, a JP exclusive. This mode is laid out in the header of the rom, so in order to set up the memory map we parse that: sneslab.net/wiki/SNES_RO...

The current state of it is: I have the rom parsing and loading set up. I allocate off the fixed amount of memory space that the SNES can address (remember it's 16-bit! so that is 0xFFFFFFFF), then I parse out the chunks and load whatever rom is picked out into the right spot (there are 3 options)

Today I'm having some of a 1990s era Xiaguan Brick which has been Hong Kong Traditional Stored, via Listening2Leaves. It's not winning any awards for incredible body feel, but it has very nice flavor, mouthfeel, and a lot of longevity. #teasky

On the left is a Liangban Pressed Tofu, a cold pressed tofu tossed in chili oil with cilantro and garlic; on the right is a dish called 鬼火绿, the translation that the guy gave was "Ghost fire green". It's long hot pepper cilantro and ginger. It's blow-your-bhole out spicy at least by my degree of spice tolerance

2007 Dayi Anxiang this morning. This one came as a taobao rec from an article on teadb and I picked it up cause I had superbuy credit left over and I don't keep a lot of ripe around thats not HK trad, so I thought I'd diversify. 2007 marks a big year for Dayi, not in a positive way. #teasky

2005 Wuweisanfang Lao Banzhang, ~6g. This one is a real treat. I only went for a quarter cake of it because it was so expensive but I haven't had an LBZ until now and everything I have ever had from WWSF has been excellent. This one certainly fits the pattern! #teasky

Today is 2024 moon bear. It's a crossover white/raw pu processing hybrid and it definitely strikes a strange balance. It has the mouth feel and the savory notes off a white tea but laid over the body of a young raw. Overall it's pretty pleasant but strange.

Having W2T Qilan today :) I don't usually spring for yancha, it's good but doesn't last very long. AI'm blessed to have cheaper tastes for it because of that tho. Pretty light compared to smth like rou gui but I quite like it. Nice sweet flavor and roast. Not quite getting the cannabis note unfort.
