Sometimes, I don’t like the Dodgers because I’m jealous as a Rockies fan. Sometimes I don’t like the Dodgers for another reason. But mostly, I just don’t like the Dodgers. Still against the whiny billionaires. But so happy the Dodgers were swept on Cheese Curd Day!

In 2026, I take little joys where I can find them, and since Saturday that has been watching the replay of the game winning touchdown in the Iowa-Michigan game. But today, a clown GOP senator confused the #Hawkeyes with the Atlanta Hawks and searching for that play has taken a turn.

I’ve watched a lot of #Rockies baseball this year. Sometimes, I can’t believe their record is as bad as it is. And then there’s the poor situational play in the outfield yesterday and the complete inability to have any disciplined at-bats in extra innings today. A lot of work to do.

Yes, the #Rockies (44-67) have surpassed last season’s win total. They scored 418 runs and gave up 695 (-277) through 111 games in 2025. Through 111 games this year, they’ve scored 530 and given up 635 (-105). That’s +112 runs scored and -60 runs given up. They’re more fun this year.

With their 3-1 win over the Royals tonight, the #Rockies have matched last season’s win total. Colorado is currently 43-67. It’s a far cry from where the team wants to be, but improvement is improvement. And the 2026 team can now say the same as 2025:

People make lazy jokes about the Rockies all the time. Fine. Last year was terrible, and Monforts are still terrible owners. Last year, the Rockies won their 9th game of season in game 51 on May 23. They won their 9th game today in the game 22.
