My Zandalari Hunter friend served me a dish over Christmas. A dish of bird of prey meat set in savoury gelatin. It was Aspic Of The Hawk. #wow #warcraft #aspic #blizzard #trolls #zandalari #azeroth #hunter

I’m not from the US so this is a sincere question, what makes moving from one state to another so expensive compared to moving intra-state?

I’ve been told by my wife that I am under no circumstances, allowed to get into speedrunning. Jokes on her, I’ve already downloaded something called ‘livesplit’ (whatever that is)

This is now actually very funny because we tried to get in contact with the same person (yacine). He used to frequent a cyberpunk-based IRC channel I started about a decade ago

I’m sort of acquaintances with someone that works there, so I DMd him to see if there’s anything he can do. Long shot but who knows

Really was! We were at Haynes lift bridge during the worst of it and I swear the canal must have had 3-4mph of flow

I had the exact same thought when the canal was getting pretty deep just south of Banbury

What you wanna do is spray a bit of hairspray in one end, bung it and somehow light the hairspray inside. Basically like a potato canon. that'll clear it right out.

literally no idea what I'm talking about but I reckon 'predictive' keyboards just use something basic like markov chains. nowhere near as kewl as on-device language models or w/e but they output stuff about as coherent as IRC bots I've used for decades

Happy birthday to this little guy, who is two years old (his birthday is the anniversary of when we found him abandoned in a hedge). He's grown a lot and is no longer starving, he seems very happy and fulfilled & loves the boat life as much as we do. Happy birthday Scraps! Pics taken a year apart.

decided to give llama2 13B a go today, ollama doesn't handle multiline input (probably a way to do it but i haven't figured it out yet) so my attempt to summarize a sample meeting file failed, but what was even worse was the nature of the responses. if this is alignment i don't want to be aligned

aight, maybe read the wiki page on the term because it's not a particularly empathetic term to your cause

That doesn't really help with the massive application of pesticides, and there are still *massive* issues with ground-nesting birds in particular though. Not every field is build the same, and I suppose crop fields are harvested less often (i.e., once per year) but yeah it's not great

sl0mad @punk.place · 21/07/2023
Ok cool, in which case I'd say almost definitely no. However, at least in the UK there are vague efforts (that currently fall massively short) to preserve and improve hedgerows between fields, that really help protect the wildlife, effectively working as 'nature corridors'.

the argument that 'at least it produces food' is kinda a cop-out imo. Yes I guess they are technically substantively different, but their effect on the ecosystem of the area are equivalent so if you care about nature they're really not different.

is your use of the term 'gang stalking' a bit?
