It looks like an octopus or a spiny starfish! But, don't get fooled by its appearance because it's an ultra #rare flower ( #Rhizantes deceptor ) blooming in the wild, although this #specimen is on the rooting phase. The #petals would be white, elongated, and very hairy.

We found this amazing #species of #Flame Lily ( #Gloriosa superba ) at dry forest along the Coastline of Alas Purwo National Park, East #Java. Despite its beauty, all parts of #plant (especially roots) contain colchicine and other related alkaloids, which is extremely #toxic.
