People say "Wear the clothes that make you happy," but, for me, those same clothes give me such an immense amount of self-consciousness, anxiety, body dysmorphia, and near-panic attacks that it feels like wearing -any- clothing, no matter what kind, is an exercise in futility.

Renee was one of my best friends in high school. We sang together. We went to prom in the same car. We hung out together daily. I was a groomsman at her first wedding. She was one of the kindest people I've ever known.
