Just read a scathing review of the new Amazon Mike Flanagan CARRIE series by a Patreon writer/critic I follow. The show sounds laughably bad. Did you know it's not a one-and-done series, but will be part of a planned Stephen King Extended Universe (tm)? What?! That King is enthusiastic about […]

@dilmandila Yeah, stretching the boundaries of horror movies but it's so good. I do really like horror comedies.

Here's your yearly October gentle reminder that I wrote on my blog about 31 of my favorite horror movies you may or may not have heard of. One of these years I'm going to do a Part II. #movies #horror #horrorMovies digitallofi.com/blog/2023/10-octobe…

You know that thing where you've been meaning to get to something, and then time passes and not doing that thing becomes more and more the thing you're doing. Anyway, I hope everyone here is good.

Heh, this record was produced by the keyboard player, Michael Kamen. He was a member of The New York Rock and Roll Ensemble alongside drummer Martin Fulterman who most people know as Mark Snow, composer for The X-Files.

Peace out, Tim Curry Mundane personal fact about this record: after I graduated high school I worked for a while at a clothing importer in downtown Providence RI. A dude I worked there with played rhythm guitar on these sessions. Solid dude. #vinyl #NowSpinning #TimCurry

With perspective of time this is a remarkable achievement. For a movie so esoteric and shambolic it is a remarkable formalist and stylistic piece of art. There is nothing haphazard about it. Crazy choreographed single take shots. Perfectly tracks the episodes across the hours of the day, the […]

It’s the whole right wing media strategy now: be openly antagonistic to anyone who dares question their crafted narrative and bullshit. Indignation, derision, feigned condescension, hostility. All of them to it. To the press, to congress. It’s gotta be part of their media training. Part trolling […]

This is an interesting one. It is in some way related to my Boston rock post (digitallofi.com/blog/2024/11-novemb…): a Boston-based band playing combination of post-punk, art rock, industrial. But this was released in 1992 […] [Original post on beige.party]

This one has been a grail (as they say on r/vinyl) since I learned it was pressed to vinyl. The story, according to the comments on the Discogs page, is there were only 500 manufacturerd, 300 of which were destroyed in a flood at the label that repressed this […] [Original post on beige.party]

The last of the records that J sent to me. Had we had a conversation about The Who at some point? Probably. Looking at the Discogs listing for this pressing I learned this is a Canadian release. I like to imagine this is from his youth #vinyl #NowSpinning #recordCollection @SpaceAce

Ah another 45 RPM disc. Funnily enough this is the only MBV record I have on vinyl. I mean, I like Loveless but every time I see it on vinyl I'd always rather spend that $30-$50 on other records. This is hilariously different than the rest of their discography […] [Original post on beige.party]

This is a weird one for me cause of my Boston rock past, and never was a band I listened to much. But J was a fan and got an extra copy of this so now I have a copy. And in my wizened years it’s a fun listen. And the band is tight. Drummer is S Tier. @SpaceAce #vinyl #NowSpinning #vinylCollection
