Many thanks to @joannabagniewska.com for a fabulous talk last night. It was simultaneously entertaining, informative, and marvellously gross in parts (mainly animal butt parts FWIW). I'm looking forward to reading more from The Modern Bestiary. Follow PubSci for more great events.

Taken from a video I can't upload, to illustrate the blueness of the sky and the impossibility of exposing for the sky and the corona at the same time.

My best photo of totality isn't of the eclipse at all... it's of a light fitting in the Rockefeller Center. So, why do I say it's my best eclipse photo? Because it perfectly illustrates how exposing for the corona gives the impression of a pitch black sky, it's actually nighttime blue!
