Migrant labor has always been part of agriculture. Some used to be domestic, but the vast majority has always come from south of the border. Might not be a bad thing if more US citizens got some experience in it, but the farmers are in for big trouble if they have to depend on them

Agreed. The litmus for me is whether they are open about defunding Israel. (I don’t expect them to go on a righteous rampage about it though. Some Gaza supporters do seem fake.) But the real problem are the ones who say Biden went too far left. I’m assuming they are right wing stooges.

I think Catholicism has varied thinking and leadership, but the official judgement of the Vatican is that using contraceptives to prevent conception is a sin. You can use them for other things though. To regulate menstrual cycles… Or balloons I guess?

When we look back at pop authors time is not exactly kind. The first book I ever read cover to cover when I was 8 was A Princess of Mars by Burroughs. I researched it eventually and discovered it was hailed as a “Masterpiece” and wildly popular in 1912. It’s barely recognised anymore
