Unrelated but What's doing this Bloodborne creature pretending to be a regular animal under the name of "Parasitic Barnacle"?

It's body is separated in two parts, showing at the left the fleshy reproductive sac (with a reminisce of a bean in this illustration but in reality it looks more like a tumor) and the several tendril like structures that form the rest of its body at the right

It could be recognized as a barnacle because unlike its adult stage, the free swimming larva resembles the larvae of other barnacles, but it just abandons the exoskeleton once adhered to a convenient crab body part

It's a castrating parasite that inserts its tendrils inside the anus of a crab to spread them through its body as much as it can. Castrating the crab and taking the place of what would be the crab's egg sac grants it safety, especially because it also alters the brain chemistry of said crab to think it is its egg sac

Futhermore can also change hormonally a male crab to make it functionally female. After the parasite leaves, the crab resumes its regular hormonal balance. However it can still have ovaries after that

Bloodborne is a dark game where the imagery of tentacles, tumors or similars, mental and physical changes and, mostly important, motherhood is present all the time with varying degrees of one of those motifs or another, including a full lack of these in various parts

With all this, Sacculina basically has all of these elements of the game and without its simile even to its fellows beyond the larval stage nails the joke of this barnacle being effectively a real life animal that came from Bloodborne

I think that going for the most notable parts is the sanest option here and do a bit of whatever as a filler. On the bright, it's mostly transparent, so at least it doesn't complicate the color part as it's like stained glass! Earwigs wings though...

As an execution device was viscerally horrifying due how long it took to kill and there's a version with a metal spike to further break the vertebrae

There's an interesting detail that it has been taken away from the main series, but it was shown in the anime Golurk IS a gundam. It can retreat its legs and hands to fly like a rocket (that's why it can learn Fly). The cannon thing was unused, but yeah, it's a gundam golem!

The characters were also surprisingly fleshed out for a game like this. Although it's kind of a shame that you only get to see how they actually look like in the sprites rather than in the cutscenes and dialogues, but the puppet style was admittedly endearing Also, I love these three dorks
