Mary Wild's presentation on David Bowie's 1970s transformation was a masterclass that Bowie fans and analyst groupies should check out. I was somewhat reminded of Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh's work with Corey Taylor (#Slipknot) on The Therapist (youtu.be/Azt8SRgwBJ8).
David Bowie as a young man literally holds a mask near his face.

Today is the official publication day of my first book, Psychoanalysing Horror Cinema (Routledge). I perceive this volume to be very similar to the Leaning Tower of Pisa: imperfect, different, strangely surreal with little glimmers of magic, & perhaps even memorable. I hope readers connect with it.

Mary Wild @psycstar.bsky.social · 28/11/2025
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a surreal structure with a uniquely imposing aura. Pisa is rendered dreamlike because of this Tower. The conventional quality of the nearby buildings only enhances the magical features of being askew & imperfect. If this Tower were not Leaning, nobody would remember it.
