This is why it can be difficult for me, as someone with an autoimmune disease who was very safe but got long covid anyways after ONE infection, to see people complaining about becoming disabled after the 4th, 5th, 6th infection COVID didn't disable you at that point. Your ignorance & ableism did.

I beg of the entire autistic community to PLEASE stop trying to use being autistic as a "get out of jail free card" when you're told you're being ableist. I'm autistic & a wheelchair user. I still police myself on ableist language. Disabled people can be & frequently are ableist themselves

We really need to talk about ableist language It's disabled.. not "handicapped" It's deaf and hard of hearing.. not "hearing impaired" It's wheelchair user.. not "wheelchair bound" Any word that implies an inherent brokenness or restraint by disability are not used by most disabled ppl.
