Imagine. In the flashback, we have red irregular shapes as footstools until they stop working and the red AI switches to smooth blue shapes before smashing the wall. And Caine in the present has to go from blue to red smooth shapes to show he's being forced to actually grow without brute force.

He came into the Circus fresh off the lesson of "if you show who you are to people, you will suffer and so will they", which you could say is a problem that inherently gets made other peoples' problem over time. I also didn't see that scene as anyone forgiving Jax so much as "we're all we've got".

The one thing I will knock is the Caine flashback though. I was super confused at Scratch apparently being revived. Something as small as changing the footing Caine created in the past into more garbled chaotic shapes would have been better visual indicators and sold his present maturity.

For the show, and probably because it was a movie instead of 2/3 episodes, my main problem is the parts that lacked details I wanted in the finale. More on the consequences of Pomni talking to Jax. More on Caine's survival and apology. More on future interactions with the abstractions.

How do you even argue Jax is poorly written? He(used because he's still closeted) is a hot mess of issues, but a realistically constructed one. Jax was precision-designed to have the worst time possible in the circus.
