Finished Dagwon. I didn't dislike it, but it's my least favorite from the Brave series. The cast was too large and kept growing, which made the thin characters stretch out even thinner. My completionist mind tells me my Brave Series journey isn't over until I watch Betterman... so...

Now this is It. The "Crime of the Week" format gave J-decker a lot of room to keep things interesting with hardly any thematic repeats, asides from the overarching theme about what a Soul is. There's more effort to make everyone into a proper character, and this pays off quite well. A favorite!

Finished Might Gaine. The fact that the True Villain is a "3D being" that is only playing a game for fun with 2D beings is a fun meta wink. Considering Might Gaine aired the year Sunrise was sold out to Bandai without the staff's knowledge, the villain's final words... "So I was also a pawn..."

Might Gaine capture. Great Might Gaine is severely damaged, crouching while steam flows from it.

100%'d Dragon Quest Builders. Playing the games out of order did it no favors. But it's still a fun building-through-objectives game. The strongest aspect remains that the premise branches out from the choice near the end of DQ1 to accept the Dragonlord's deal. When the Hero fails, the Builder rises

Auspicious return of the 100GFs with a fun new OP, an adorable new ED and the usual rapidfire gags with some extra adaptation spice here and there.

Finished Happiness Charge. Well, I was well warned in advance but... yeah. The last third of the show is specially messy. I still had a good time with individual episodes and moments, but too many scattered and interrupted plot threads brought Delipa in mind. And that's... no good. Blue sucks.

One last show for the year. Orguss 02 (rewatch). I still don't really like it. All the rough edges on the original show are what make it interesting. 02 is more concise and definitely looks quite pretty (OVA and all). But it doesn't quite connect with me.

And that's that for DaGarn. The show got really good when Yanchar joined the cast and the narrative ceased to be as episodic. But I feel like the finale needed at least one more episode or two, I wonder if the show was cut short. Still, a fun third installment of the Brave series.
