Europe can't afford to antagonise the US yet. If the Yanks ever disabled European access to their digital services, (Gmail, Microsoft, AWS etc), the economic damage would be absolutely catastrophic because virtually all European companies are still heavily reliant on US digital services to function!

Seems BlueSky is implementing a shadow banning/content moderation solution designed to keep authoritarian regimes happy 😬 The magic of this platform was that it had a very basic "algorithm", so you could easily curate your content, but now not all voices are equal and that's a very slippery slope 😔

Osma A 🇫🇮🇺🇦, interesting. @moderation-ru.bsky.app also seems to exist, but is empty as of right now. Was created fairly recently. So they are preparing to moderate content for Russian users too.

And yep I'm subscribed to it with this wonderful "required in your region" notice.
