How it stood after my vote. Not sure how long this has been up, or how long it will be open, but it had 32,536 votes after mine. 94% NO AI. These are the kinds of numbers that remind you, you're not crazy. People really don't want this crap. Big companies *should* listen. It's not good tech.

Paper from May 2025: CRMArena-Pro [Benchmark Test] by Huang et al. arxiv.org/abs/2505.18878 October 2025 Forbes analysis of the AI bubble: www.forbes.com/sites/peterc... Most unbiased source I could find on blackouts (Reuters) although there is more reporting now: www.reuters.com/technology/b...

Experiments reveal leading LLM agents achieve only around 58% single-turn success on CRMArena-Pro, with performance dropping significantly to approximately 35% in multi-turn settings. While Workflow Execution proves more tractable for top agents (over 83% single-turn success), other evaluated business skills present greater challenges. Furthermore, agents exhibit near-zero inherent confidentiality awareness; though targeted prompting can improve this, it often compromises task performance.

Looking at the listing page, I can't get the full track information without paying for episodes, but there's a possibility the AI dub is only on season 2 (not really a great thing, still). If a dub *actor* is credited on season 1 but they didn't keep the track, that's a whole different issue.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you? ...Tang San's most okayest son-in-law. Probably. If he doesn't get distracted by a shiny object, like an ice cube. (I'll be fine, he's just not task-oriented.)

The central cast of Soul Land II in their season 1 character designs shown on the verdant campus of Shrek Academy. In the foreground, Huo Yuhao (protagonist) on the right and Wang Dong (it's complicated) on the left. In the background, from left to right, Sanshi, Beibei, Xiao Xiao, Nannan, and Caitou.

Huo Yuhao holds the figure of an unconscious woman carefully inside a swirling cloud of red-tinted magic energy. A rare and powerful flower from the series floats above them, which can stabilize the body and grant someone a significantly hardier constitution, but will only respond to someone capable of devoted, trusting, single-minded, and consuming love.

The cast of the first Soul Land series, who ascended as gods and reign over the universe in Soul Land II. From left: Tang San, shown with his twin martial souls blue-silver grass and clear-sky hammer, who ascended as the Sea God and the Asura God. He is now the God-King of reality. His wife, Xiao Wu, a soft-boned rabbit soul beast who took human form. There is complicated stuff going on with her being kind of the Rabbit God, and kind of the auxiliary for any overflow godhood from Tang San, because she did his trial with him. That does get sorted out later. Ma Hongjun had a mutated fire chicken... I mean. A phoenix martial soul. And now he's the Phoenix God. Zhu Zhuqing had a martial soul known as the Black Cat of the Netherworld, sometimes called the Hell Civet. She ascended as the God of Speed. She has a soul fusion technique with her husband, on the viewer's right, Dai Mubai (distant anscestor of the Soul Land II protagonist). The Dai family martial soul, seen in many of Yuhao's relatives, is the Evil Eye White Tiger. Dai Mubai ascended as the God of War. And I wish I had noticed earlier that Ning Rongrong and Oscar don't appear to be in this picture. Rongrong had the Liuli pagoda martial soul, the strongest support soul in the setting, and ascended as the Nine-Color Goddess. Oscar's martial soul was a sausage. Don't laugh (or do), food-type soul masters can be crazy powerful, and he could make snacks that let an entire army fly. He ascended as the Food God, naturally.

Second season character designs for the Shrek Seven Devils — which in this series you can consider the name of the varsity team for the one and only sport anyone cares about: Mortal Kombat with super powers and mana-punk laser cannons. In the high school tournaments, it's considered bad form to permanently maim or kill your opponents. On black ops missions, people definitely do not pull their punches.

From left to right: Sanshi, Nannan, Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong (now going by Wang Dong-er), Xiao Xiao, Caitou, Beibei

And those traits *are not equal* between translations. Not all translations sound equally awesome read aloud, just as not all are equally literal or equally representative. This is the E.V. Rieu translation (of the Odyssey). And here's the thing: That's a prose translation. As in, not a poem.

Audible audio book service item listing for Penguin Classics 2019 edition of The Odyssey, translation by E.V. Rieu and narration by George Blagden. Who is an excellent actor and probably a great choice. No complaints there. The cover image matches the picture from the original tweet.

Brief review of the E.V. Rieu translation of the Iliad, presuming that is actually the book our opinionated poster listened to.

The review reads:

E.V. Rieu Iliad Translation
Year: 1950
Tags: free, prose

E. V. Rieu's translation of the Iliad is characterized by its straightforward and accessible language, making Homer's epic more approachable for modern readers. Rieu, who aimed to preserve the narrative's grandeur while simplifying its complexity, opted for prose over poetry, which distinguishes his work from other translations that often maintain the poem's original verse form. His translation prioritizes clarity and readability, capturing the essence of the characters and their emotions with a directness evident in passages like the opening lines that highlight Achilles' destructive rage. Rieu's style stands in contrast to the more poetic renditions by translators like Robert Fagles or Richmond Lattimore, who maintain a more literal and formal approach to the epic's structure. Ultimately, Rieu's Iliad is praised for making the ancient text accessible to a wider audience without losing the power and drama of Homer's storytelling.

Following links to amazon, there are options to select passages. The opening is visible:

Anger — sing, goddess, the anger of Achilles son of Peleus, that accursed anger, which brought the Greeks endless sufferings and sent the mighty souls of many warriors to Hades, leaving their bodies as carrion for the dogs and a feast for the birds; and Zeus' purpose was fulfilled. It all began when Agamemnon lord of men and godlike Achilles quarrelled and parted.

Below this are links to comparisons with other translations.

I keep meaning to post my MDZS preview for @mxtx-foodzine.bsky.social !! Well, here is said preview, right under the wire. I'll be submitting a fic about Wei Wuxian-brand food crimes *to educate the youth*, "Let's Learn with Wei-xiansheng!" along with a recipe for Atomic Fireball Fa Gao.

An excerpt from a fanfic over a background with an illustration of purple lotuses. At the top, the title reads, "Let's Learn with Wei-xiansheng!"

The description reads: "A fanfic AU for Modao Zushi for the MXTX Food Zine: Spice! This time, the spice is literal, and the food crimes will be broadcast."

Meta information at the bottom reads:
Fic: psiten
Zine details: https://mxtxfoodzine.carrd.co

Red text in a handwriting font in the background reads: "Never make this recipe. LWJ."

The fanfic excerpt is:
He'd already triple-checked all the ingredients in his carrying case for tomorrow, gotten confirmation from Wen Ning that video equipment tests went smoothly, and he had somehow managed to convince A-Jie, Jiang Cheng, Lan Xichen, and even Lan Qiren to each loan him a blender. This was happening.

Well, filming for the vlog happened every other week, but it never stopped being crazy that these days when he wanted to do some bullshit piece of "science" fun, all he had to do was say "It's for the vlog, so I can show the kiddos how (insert educational excuse here) works," and not only did he not get arrested or assigned detention…

Lan Qiren himself would enable him.

Life: Hacked.

We had a suggested update to Wu Xie's grid. Naturally, a third axis, because he's SUCH a little shit. I made it color-coded. Nobody should have to deal with perspective on a meme unless they want to.

Revised Wu Xie grid meme. Eight three-dimensional sectors defined by a horizontal axis, a vertical axis, and a color-coded z-axis, representing depth or visual distance between the screen and the viewer.
Horizontal axis: Left - Tianzhen. Right - Mob Widow.
Vertical axis: Top - Chaos Gremlin. Bottom - Fuerdai Fuckboy.
Z-axis: Front, colored red - Armed and Dangerous. Back, colored blue - Soaking Wet. The color coding blends into purple at the center point of the axes before blending into blue.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your concerns regarding Heaven Official's Blessing Season 2 Blu-ray. I can absolutely understand your disappointment, as it’s always wonderful to experience a series in its original language.

At the moment, the Blu-ray release of Season 2 is available only with English and Japanese audio tracks. Unfortunately, the Mandarin audio track is not included in this release. I completely understand how important it is to preserve the original experience of a show, especially one like this where the Mandarin voice acting plays such a significant role in its authenticity.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. At the moment, we don’t have additional details as to why the Mandarin audio wasn’t included, but we’re always looking to improve and will certainly keep this feedback in mind.

If you have any further questions or if there’s anything else I can do to help, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m here to assist however I can.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Kind regards,

8) This is why I needed my notes. It wasn't a RanWan teacher-student AU. They were journalists. Based on my chat history, this was vaguely (VAGUELY, incidentally, not really actually) inspired by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Mostly by the existence of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, as a title.

Chat history from psiten, dated June 10, 2023.

Modern AU. Woke Up Married. Drugs. Alcohol. Light undernegotiated BDSM and injury. Journalist and Trainee. Omegaverse dynamics, certain narcotics cause a secretly omega CWN to go into heat while under the influence on a work trip, and Mo Ran has to take matters into his own hands... and that of an Elvis-impersonator marriage officiant, because even totally blitzed, CWN won't put out without you putting a ring on it. Mo Ran "This is Fines" his way through till morning, when CWN wakes up with one hell of a headache, lots of other aches, a ring, Mo Ran snoring on him, and... a mating bite?!!! Someone had better explain quick, or the whips are coming out. And please point him towards breakfast. 95k. Rated E. 2 sequels.

Chat log continued from image 1, 10:51 p.m.

Sequel 1: Chu Wanning is absolutely livid about the Elvis impersonator. He insists on getting a divorce. So they can get married in a respectable ceremony.
Sequel 2: Explaining this to, uh. Everyone. Or not. Maybe just letting them figure it out? They have that talk on the way home. Only to find out that someone updated his status on social media, and has been posting nonstop squishy posts about his shizun, so everyone is waiting to find out if he's joking or high or what, and they see the rings, and are like, OH MY GOD, you're actually married.
And CWN the Nopetopus drags Mo Ran away by the collar.

Title: Button Up Your Overcoat
Author: Skinner (psiten)

Summary: Ed could untie knots in the fifth and sixth dimensions -- blindfolded. He could convince the military he fell through a rabbit-hole, and he could even shut down a Drachman invasion (with a little help), but he can't seem to avoid dating Roy Mustang (and maybe is kind of okay with that). But here's hoping they can collar a General trying to trigger a three-way war, and that they can stop him before he destroys the world.

Quote: Making himself walk instead of run took every ounce of composure he had, especially when he got far enough to see the city blanketed in a strange layer of dust and dark thunderclouds. The weather had been clear for miles around. Those clouds had the smack of weather alchemy about them.

He had to find his brother.

Spoiler Warning: End of first anime series, Conqueror of Shamballa movie. Slight AU to movie continuity.

A shelf with manga stacked double on every shelf, sometimes with more books laying in front or on top of the rest. The author surname goes roughly from C to K.

On the left, a narrow traditional bookcase with a variety of translated classical texts from China and Japan, regarding literature, poetry, philosophy, and mythology. Some art books or other oversized books, and guides that reference primary sources. On the right, the reverse side of the rotating six-tier bookshelf, with various fiction and academic texts.

Two tall bookshelves, partially hidden by a chair, with language reference books, classic Western literature and philosophy, and an array of other nonfiction and fiction books, accompanied by several plush dolls.

If you see this, share the last sentence you wrote. (Given the source, I'm assuming this means "for a story" and that the inane vagaries of my life are not called for.)

Screencap of a document with a small section of text, which reads: "...exactly talk around the seal, but he could feel a sense of relief filling the air. Leaving the alley taped off, he half-jogged back toward the library door."

The last sentence is highlighted.

Per instructions below, "post a meme made by you" So here is are things I made that may qualify as memes.

Cover image from Volume 1 of the English release of Husky and His White Cat Shizun, showing Mo Ran with a sword fighting Chu Wanning with his golden willow whip, Tianwen. Text superimposed on the image reads, "Probably Wontons."

Distracted Girlfriend and Jealous Boyfriend meme, where the Jealous Boyfriend labeled "Jiang Cheng" objects as the Distracted Girlfriend, labeled "Wei Wuxian", looks with obvious attraction at a passing man labeled "Lan Wangji."

A picture of Tsukishiro Yukito from Cardcaptor Sakura with superimposed text copied from a tweet that reads, "If I say 'I'm hungry' we got about 9 minutes until im a different person".

A photo of two physical stacks of books. The left stack, containing three volumes, with the top volume visibly the first volume of the English release of the novel Guardian by priest, is labeled "Guardian." The right stack, containing the Classic of Mountains and Seas, "In Search of the Supernatural," The Huainanzi, the Book of Songs, the Chu Ci, a text on Bazi, the Annals of Confucius, the Mengzi, the I Ching, the Art of War, a book on Purple Star astrology, Water Margin, Three Kingdoms, Anna Karenina, Journey to the West, Dream of Red Mansions, an e-reader with additional digital texts, and the Chinese edition of Guardian is labeled, "Guardian if every reference came with a nuanced and complete annotation."

If it's like whole blood (a shear-thinning non-Newtonian fluid, ie, it becomes less viscous when in motion), the answer is literally "it depends" but this screencap has some ranges... www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles... mPa s = millipascal second pascal second = Newton-second per sq meter

Plasma is a Newtonian fluid whereby its viscosity is independent of the shear rate it is exposed to. Its normal value at 37°C is around 1.3 mPa s. To put this into perspective, the apparent viscosity of blood at 40% hematocrit and a shear rate of 1,000s^(-1) is approximately 5 mPa s with 30% plasma contribution. However, if the same blood is exposed to a very low shear rate of 0.1s^(-1) where blood viscosity is 65 mPa s, plasma contribution would merely account for 2%. Under certain circumstances, such [sentence cut off]

Just received my ARC for These Deathless Shores by P.H. Low (coming in July) and I'm looking forward to it so much! This is exactly the kind of gender-bending deep lore reimaginations I love to see coming out of creative spaces. Book listing: www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/p-h-l...

Front cover of These Deathless Shores, features a stylized illustration of an island with bare trees, a ghostly pirate ship, a fairy with dragonfly wings, human figures flying around a full moon, and a hook sitting on the tallest peak.

Back cover of These Deathless Shores, with summary blurb and promo quotes. "Gorgeous and devastating, P.H Low's debut fantasy is a richly reimagined tale of Captain Hook's origin, a story of cruelty, magic, lost innocence, and the indelible power of stories.

Jordan was once a Lost Boy, convinced she would never grow up. Now she's twenty-two and exiled to the real world, still suffering withdrawal from the addictive magic Dust of her childhood. With nothing left to lose, Jordan returns to the Island and its stories - of pirates and war and the heartlessness of youth - intent on facing Peter one last time, on her own terms. If that makes her the villain...so be it."

"Come for the lush expansiveness of the world, stay for the incisive examination of gender, colonialism, and ambition." Grace D. Li (Portrait of a Thief)

"It takes a careful hand to balance brutality and gentleness, but Low's impeccably sharp prose manages the perfect, potent mix." Em X. Liu (The Death I Gave Him)

Exhibit A: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harada_...

Background section of the Harada Sanosuke wikipedia article (linked) describing how, "During his time in Matsuyama, he was once ridiculed by a Matsuyama retainer as being a peon who was unfamiliar with how to properly commit seppuku. Harada, wishing to prove the man wrong, immediately drew his sword and attempted to commit seppuku; however, the wound was shallow and he survived."

Just finished. "Most Ardently: a Pride and Prejudice Remix" from the Remixed Classics series. I actually had trouble putting it down. It's *cute* okay? Oliver Bennet is cute. You want him to win, and he does. Darcy is a cute nerd. Wickham is scum and Oliver doesn't waste a second on him.

Re-reading later parts of the Guardian novel (so spoiler warning if you've only read Volume 1, I guess), and the chocolate chip panel from Hyperbole and a Half sprang into my mind during this one conversation between the Magistrate and Shen Wei. And. Well. (Original image, Hyperbole and a Half)

Left side: an angry figure wearing purple labeled "The Magistrate" says, "My lord! You cannot simply murder anyone who touches the Guardian!"

Right side: a figure clothed in black robes, holding a bloody glaive, with a composed and transcendent smile. If you are familiar with Guardian, you will recognize this figure as Shen Wei. He says, "I can, though."

This? Is a crab. I have been up and down the US Atlantic coast from Florida to Maine, and I'll tell you for certain: lobsters have tails, and that is a (cartoon) crab.

Fyi, I'll be working on this playlist for awhile while I'm under a rock re-reading 2ha, and if I'm not saying anything it's because I worry that people don't want to hear about THIS AND ONLY THIS for the foreseeable future. But I will keep sharing from songs 1-43 on request. (I said it was long.)

Tracks: 111
Length: 7 hours 35 minutes 5 seconds
Updated: Just Now
Title: 2HA - Mo Ran's Wonton History with Chu Wanning
Buttons labeled: Add Tracks, Play, showing the "pause" icon.
On either side, circular buttons with a "share" icon and a pencil-shaped "edit" icon.
Below, a slide button labeled "Download".

First three tracks showing:
1) "That Unwanted Animal" by The Amazing Devil, marked explicit
2) "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift, marked as lyrics available
3) "Blood Tears (Remastered 2007)" by Blind Guardian

Each song has a button shaped like a heart to "like" the song, and a menu shaped like three vertical dots.
