2) if I recall correctly, my Mom said that Neimans was the first to hire African-American sales people, even when other stores in Dallas refused to let them enter the stores as shoppers. Stanley Marcus was an amazing humanitarian. I hope that closing the store won’t cause people to forget him.

I’m not defending it; I think it’s awful. I hope the upcoming elections bring a new government. I’m angry when people single out Israel, ignoring the mass murder committed by the Syrian against its people, the mass murders in Sudan committed by Islamic militants, and single out Israel for blame.

Sad that the Palestinians rejected the many offers to have their own state because they refused to allow the possibility that Israel could exist. There never was a Palestinian state. And they have refused to allow the creation of one when given the opportunity.

Hamas had made no such promises and wouldn’t honor them if it did. Hamas attacked Israeli civilians on Oct. 7 knowing full well the reaction they would provoke. They were quite happy to sacrifice civilians for their own political purposes.
