You have local control. If the residents wanted more money for schools they can literally vote for it. The whole point of my town in South Jersey is good schools so the residents fund them properly because it's still 1/3 the cost of Lawrenceville Prep.

We need analysis on the concept of settling. Current research shows that it's better for a woman to be single than to have a deadbeat husband, but is deadbeat the only option when one "settles"? For example loser guys can arguably still provide for a family and be a reliable long term partner.
