Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I thought about that when I first got it, hoping it would be Ukrainian made but marked ussr, but unfortunately, when I dug into it, the factory was in Russia, I think in the Moscow region. 030
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 01/10/2026So does that mean you can fix my mid century Swiss railway pocket watch I can't wear anymore because it needs $300 + in repair LOL. Just kidding I'm currently using a mid century soviet pocket watch but not thrilled to be using something Russian as a Ukrainian Canadian. 160
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Katie Mack has been talking about this on her bluesky as well. They're messaging the holder of the Hawking chair on cosmology and science communications at one of the top physics institutes in the world to help her with her writing lol it's just insane. 031
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 18/09/2026If I hear anything from my transplant team at tgh I'll pass it along. They're on top of that stuff because we're all immunosuppressed 120
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Since we're all posting Canadian stuff today, here's one of the walls near my drafting table 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I'm looking forward to it. I loved your first one. I can follow the theories and everything It's just numbers that trip me up but I like hearing how the math works it is something I wish I could grasp because it is just so beautiful to see how it all works. I'll be pre ordering. Thanks for replying 011
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I love math and physics but I have a very hard time with numbers and calculations. The best books on physics to me are the ones that tell you about the complex work but also explain it so those of us dyscalculic individuals can also learn how the universe works and grasp the wonder of it all. 140
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 15/07/2026You should see wasaga Dave. My eyes and throat are burning. I'm not sure who's worse the jerk premier who cut wildfire fighting support or the people who keep voting for him. 110
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 15/07/2026I'm in Wasaga on Georgian Bay and it's pretty bad here coming across the lake, almost creepy. 000
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 14/06/2026I use the line from Barrie to Toronto pretty often, and it never seemed too bad to me until I tried to work on illustrations and patterns while riding. I had to put it away and just listen to music before I broke all my pencil leads. 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 24/04/2026There's already 2 lawsuits to try and stop him from destroying wasaga beach and the piping plover habitat. Hopefully they can stop him there 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 14/03/2026That was awesome. Did you see this shot early on in the tournament? Beautiful youtu.be/hYIOdXaWkks?...youtu.beCanada scores SIX in one end against Norway thanks to amazing shot by Jon Thurston | ParalympicsYouTube video by CBC Sports 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 02/03/2026I'll be trying to catch it in Wasaga beach. I'll be the weird guy on the beach in the dark and cold staring at the sky while locals mock me lol 000
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 25/02/2026Any of these guys who play for Canadian teams need to be booed at home from now on! 000
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 29/01/2026And the O's still haven't picked up a good starter 🤦♂️ 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 22/01/2026-9? LOL I was out in much colder today in shorts, t shirt and slip on shoes. Canadians will be fine there. 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 21/11/2025We get some pretty spherical chickadees in the winter time up here on Georgian Bay lol 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 30/10/2025Speaking of the world series, did Rufus change our anthem to "only us command" as a shot at trump? Kinda seems like it. Seems like he was saying only Canada will run Canada. 080
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 06/10/2025If he's an actual person, not a bot, he's very tough behind a keyboard lol. According to his profile, he's a Metallica fan, I guess he doesn't know kirk and lars can't stand trump and the right wing bullshit. 🤣 0100
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 26/09/2025I just passed a solitary elderly gentleman in stayner Ontario with a sandwich board against genocide. He was on the road in a wheelchair by himself so I stopped and told him he's doing good work, he said thanks with a thumbs up. I'll have to check next Friday, see if he's there to maybe join. 041
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 19/09/2025But they let that right-wing anti vaxxer sean feuchts tour the nation freely. It took municipalities to prevent some of his shows. 000
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025I was switched off prednisone for cellcept a long time ago because of the concerns to my bones. Cellcept has far fewer side effects. But of course every patient is different and I'm sure there's a reason your wife is still on prednisone 110
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025I don't know where you're located, but can't you get the neoral delivered? TGH sends it up to me in Wasaga for free. It used to cost a few bucks but it's free now. I only go to TGH for my yearly appointment. All tests are done in my area as well. 110
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025Sounds like you do a lot, so you should have a break. I'm on my own, so I can only imagine how having someone help like that would make things easier. I hope you out to Algonquin 110
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025There should be new covid shots around when flu shots come out. According to my pharmacy, at least. I'm due for a Covid as well. 110
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025Yes, kidney. All I listened to was my doctor at Toronto General and the guidance of the university health network who always said to mask. They were pretty aggressive with the government to get transplant patients moved up to priority for vaccines because we weren't initially. 120
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025I actually can't get live vaccines like the measles vaccine because of the immunosuppressive meds I'm on, so people like myself may depend on others being vaccinated to be safe. I've checked, and my childhood measles vaccine is still providing protection, but not everyone in my situation is so lucky 1150
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 09/09/2025As an immunosuppressed transplant patient, I appreciate anyone of any expertise spreading correct information about public health. Tomorrow will be 31 years post transplant. Following public health guidelines and listening to those who know more than I has been a big part of keeping me going so long 3201
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 31/08/2025Thanks as always, Dave. This year, for the anniversary, I'm going to see the Pogues with Lisa O'Neill, so I'll finally do something fun that day, maybe for the first time in 31 years 😀 120
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 31/08/2025The only reason I'm still here is because I listened to, learned from, and trusted experts. I have one of the best doctors in the country for my condition, and when he says I need to do something, I do it. I'll ask why, so I understand, but I'm 31 years past where I should be because of experts 120
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 29/08/2025That's great, but they're still not available to those of us who are younger and immunnocompromised, though. 000
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 01/08/2025Have you been to the edenvale aerodrome? It's up near Wasaga beach on Georgian Bay. They have the last remaining replica of the avro arrow and some other interesting stuff. There's a classic plane event there next weekend. It's a bit of a drive or short flight. 010
Reg @provincialfish.bsky.social · 08/03/2025You're lucky, I only have the one from when I was young, and I had a kidney transplant 30 years ago, so I can no longer get a live vaccine. As if covid wasn't enough now I have to worry about measles because people are regressing scientifically. That's me describing idiots nicely lol 040
