whats the algo situation rn? i have some feeds, but how do i curate them so its not purely chronological? (sidenote: an algo idea would be some sort of prioritization of best posts since last refresh to deemphasize purely chronological)

i think and debate with myself about this a lot ultimately i think you often need both. ideally new institutions can model better structures that existing institutions then have pressure to emulate

and to make this more practical, i know some local politicians. i have significant motivation to understand them because we all want to improve our city and are trying to figure out what will be the most effective ways to do so. they have power and are open to ideas for how to use it for the good

as for myself, i’ve been doing quite well! been quite happy with life and where i am. been busy, but mostly a good busy. feel like im going in the right direction(s) and am where i need to be. you?

like based on twitter, elon’s approach might be to just cut a bunch of jobs. and it may be ultimately good to create efficiencies and try to automate things and get rid of bloat, it’s okay if twitter is dysfunctional or breaks bc of that for a time. it’s not okay for a lot of govt programs to break

yeah, i think a lot of folks will suffer but a silver lining is there may be a lot of possibilities moving forward for new things to rise from the ashes. just wish innocent folks don’t suffer in the meantime

depends a lot on the particulars i’m all for making the government more efficient and effective. but concerned it will be more ideological and use cleavers instead of scalpels when nuance is necessary
