commission for birdsaretoddlers on tumblr of a moment from her curse of strahd game 🦇
Count Strahd von Zarovich, the Dungeons and Dragons vampire antagonist, stands backlit by his nightmare horse Beucephalus in the rain and mist. He looks ragged and upset: his clothes are torn, and his face is darkened.

And the rest (6/6)
Victor is surprised he was noticed. However, he is a rude and brave little boy, so this does not stop him. "Your arm. Why is it like that?" he asks. "What happened to your arm?" Izek is quiet as he thinks on how best to explain the situation to his boss's child. He settles on an answer and tosses the twigs into the fireplace. "Nothing good. I just lost my one-" he changes his plan mid-sentence, "by not staying inside the village. Listen to your father.""Father says to listen to you," Victor says brattily. "Ok, I say to stay inside the village." Victor doesn't like this answer, but accepts it. It doesn't satiate his curiosity, however. He approaches his bodyguard. "Then, what made it so you could make fire?" Izek stands and replies, "I don't know, boy. Some kind of magic fire from outside must have got in?" The concept of the outside world is foreign to Victor. He holds the smoke from the fire in his hands, as if he is controlling it himself. He stares at the flame through the bars of the safety grate. "There's magic outside?" Victor stands in what he imagines the outside world must be like. He's heard there's sunlight, and rolling clouds instead of a constant overcast, and a world so big you could spend your whole life walking it and never run out of things to see. The Sun looks more like the symbol of the Morninglord than a real sun. Izek brings him back to reality and the unfortunate prospects for his future, saying "I guess. But if I were you...""I'd be more worried about the fire," Izek finishes, though not present. A teen/young adult Victor now stands in his attic, one of his skeletal cats perched on his shoulders, looking out the window to the angry mob of townsfolk below bringing torches to burn his house down. Flames already lick the walls outside spelling death for the Baron's son. End.

I want to start crossposting art that I have on my tumblr :] We'll begin with one of my more popular #CurseofStrahd posts, a comic called Outside. (2/6)
Victor Vallakovich, just a young boy, thinks to himself: "For as long as I can remember... Izek has worked for the family. Keeping us safe. Safe from... what?" He holds his mother's hand and watches his father, the Baron, nervously yell at Izek. Izek prepares a controlled blast in his monstrous hand, which blows back Victor's hair with its fiery detonation.Victor's thinking continues: "Father says there is no darkness in the village, and yet..." The young boy silently peers around a cracked door into a dark study where Izek is breaking kindling for the fire. The man asks, "What do you want, Victor?" only barely turning around.
