You as the seething Reinhard versus me as the rational Oberstein.

Don't really know how this web design business works. Have a lot of empty space, so I'm adding some bonus creatures.

Finished Umineko. Am now being forced to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Gonna hold off on making a new pinned post until I get my website portfolio together, but in the meantime: I've added traditional sketches and some other commission options, as well as reducing the price of paintings!

This one is just an entire hot mess.

Just going by 'things I've spent a decent amount of time thinking about, stylistically or otherwise.' I've read some of them quite recently.

I always have a terrible time with those 'pick x of this kind of media that you found formative' memes because I have such a high threshold for stuff counting, completely arbitrarily.

PC @proteasomec.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

A fun way to play Umineko is to keep a running scoreboard of who you think the top 3 worst characters (morally) are.

Ascending that last set of designs.

I've been meaning to finish this Bloodborne piece for ages...

I'd respect an attempt at a doll or puppet look, but I really think you've gotta push the level of detail way down on the face if you're pushing it up to such extremes on the clothing.

Reading JJBA part 5 again. It's unfortunate the art has some readability problems here because Araki at his cleanest does really gorgeous black and white compositions. Love the stylized sense of perspective.

Any time anyone expresses intense emotion in Umineko, it is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Agh, I've probably gotta write up a hook to get people interested in my VN for my AA table ads/flyers/whatever.... I actually feel pretty good about my ability to write fiction, but when it comes to writing about myself or my work...

PC @proteasomec.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

The Succession War arc in HxH is so good... knowing how agonizingly slow the process of getting it out has been and how the technical aspects of comic-making get rougher, I was expecting that to manifest at some point in the story itself. But no, lol, this is extremely fun and tense.

Reading Blame. Idk if I've ever read something by someone who's so much more comfortable drawing complex environments than humans before.

Just finished Houseki no Kuni. Had mixed opinions over the course of its run, but that entire ending sequence was insane.

PC @proteasomec.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Hearing about doujinshi events in the US, and I'm really conflicted because it could be a really cool cultural shift and I want to participate, but also most of my comic experience is weird stuff with a target audience of like 10 people that would be embarassing to sell face to face.

111

PC @proteasomec.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Finished perspective book. Trying to do a bunch of 5-minute environment drawings to give myself a better sense of things, since I've realized my visual library here is really weak. Have started noticing more shapes as I go on walks.

You can really tell the exact point at which Gungrave becomes a video game boss rush, but in general, the anime was really quite good! Ended on a strong note. Worthy of 'obscure and formative piece of media encountered as a child.'

Getting back to Patho 3... complex thoughts, honestly! The tl;dr is that I really don't like having an embodiement of the plague who you have to shoot with a gun, but there are some other changes in direction that are compelling.

PC @proteasomec.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

I think Gungrave holds up pretty well! How exciting.

Re: first fandom. If we're ignoring my excursions contributing poorly to that Pokemon fanproject, the first thing I really posted and tried to establish myself in was.... Danganronpa, lmao. I don't THINK that shows.
