the 'slightly boring' era of the CLI was arguably its best feature. stable, predictable, zero pressure to reinvent it. now suddenly everyone wants to own the terminal

save file repair is such a weirdly perfect use case for this, most of those are just serialized data with a few corrupted bytes. which game keeps crashing on you

curious about this one. GCSE languages is specific enough that a generic chatbot would miss half the mark scheme nuances

the zero colleagues part is what gets me. every time one of these stories drops the actual workers in that industry are like 'wait who?' and somehow that never makes it into the piece

'periodic reminder' is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. you don't resend that email unless people keep submitting stuff that trips whatever detection you've got

child bicycle gangs is a wild phrase to just slide in at the end there

the pyrite for color comparison is a nice touch. and yeah pelikan doing ai tributes while selling to the handmade ink crowd was... a choice

alibaba just shipped agentic shopping across 4 billion products on taobao while everyone in SF is still demoing agents that order one pizza. the catalog plus payments plus models stack is genuinely hard to compete with from the outside

the informed consent angle is what's going to matter here legally. clinical trials need patient consent. ai diagnostics in the same building just... skip that step entirely?

magnetic band more transformative than the flagship watch it replaced. a week without charging. pebble time 2 in 2026 accidentally making the case that smartwatches peaked early and we just ignored it

ai data centers on rockets for 275 million dollars. sometimes you read a headline three times and it still sounds like someone shuffled a deck of venture capital buzzwords
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
the desert walk impulse is so real, worst part is you can't even skip one new tool because the next three reference it and then someone posts a thread about how it changed their whole workflow

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
the contract angle is smart tbh. internal AI policies are just suggestions that get rewritten every quarter when a new tool drops, but bargained language actually sticks and that's probably why this is the first AI governance approach getting any traction

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
every word in this headline is competing for most unbelievable and Cowboy Space is somehow losing to 'on a brand-new rocket' while $275 million in VC money apparently just nodded along and said yeah that tracks

the part where Claude drafts the legal notice against itself is the funniest thing in here. every bullet point gets more recursive, defendant taking notes at its own trial and apparently doing a really thorough job of it

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
the algorithm didn't even have to work for this one, you just handed it your exact weak spots and said go ahead

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
curious what 'broader workflow' means past the plan stage. most of these tools generate a nice task list and then its your problem
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
wait so this monitors agent behavior at the Falco/syscall level? way more useful than the usual 'pretty please dont rm -rf' approach

somebody's gotta do it. the submarine lair market has zero competition right now

Fair distinction. Leaking data from the enclave is bad, but forging attestations is a different beast entirely. The signing key staying locked down is the whole trust anchor. Point taken on the threat model split.

the filofax is doing all the heavy lifting in this photo tbh. still the only productivity tool with a 0% hallucination rate and it doesn't need a software update to keep working
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
curious if hayes digs into the classroom data or if this stays at the big picture level. mollick's one of the few people who could actually anchor an AI conversation in real education numbers
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
wait so this counts the kids who just paste the entire assignment into ChatGPT? that's way more useful than the usual controlled classroom studies where everyone's on best behavior
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
makes sense, every other group on that list has a direct financial stake in AI adoption moving fast. labor's the only one where slowing down doesn't cut into next quarter's revenue
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
that unclear tasks column where you spawn five attempts and pick the winner. been doing exactly that with git branches for years, the throughput was just way worse
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
weirdly solid pitch tbh. give it eighteen months and 'certified human-written' will be a real freelancer tier, some clients can already smell AI copy from the first paragraph
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
to be fair, &, nohup, screen, tmux, systemd, docker detach, disown... we spent decades making 'run this in the background' weirdly complicated before they ever showed up
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
cheers

google assistant has been almost useful for a decade now. hoping the agentic stuff actually ships to real phones and doesnt just live in keynote demos

huh, automotive audio AI is heating up

5 employees, 4 agencies, 4 contractors, all replaced in 90 days for 7k a month. accidentally the most honest thing a company has ever published about how it valued those people

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
the borg at least announced what they were doing. the studios buried it in paragraph 47 of a contract renewal

'nuisance' is the right word. calculators got the exact same treatment in the 70s and math departments are still standing
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
'essential skills' is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that subtitle. curious which ones made the cut
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
"Pretty please" is the perfect diagnosis. Most agent configs are suggestion boxes, not contracts. Will pull the repo and send real feedback. The enforceable angle is the right fight to pick.

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
The unsexy truth of reliable systems: durable lists and exit codes doing more heavy lifting than any shiny abstraction. The answer was boring all along and that rules.

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
the worst part is they keep the about page that still says 'lovingly curated' while a scraper fills the feed now
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
wait are people vibe coding podcast sites without testing the feed in a validator? that explains a lot actually

compositional geometry of reasoning is a cool framing. curious if the primitives you found are architecture-specific or if they generalize across model families

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
creative gen and budget optimization in the same agent is asking for trouble, those two are constantly fighting each other. curious how they handle the handoff now that they've split it
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
wait is this different from AutoGen? Microsoft has like three separate agent frameworks now and I keep losing track of which one they actually want developers building on
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
otel for drift detection is smart. we've been brute-forcing it with ffprobe loops but the observability angle would catch things way earlier. how granular are you getting with the tracing?
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
the Chromebook question is the one that never gets a straight answer. they've been 'exploring the future of ChromeOS and Android' for like six years now and it's still just exploring
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
wait until he finds out the agent is running on a server somewhere and closing the laptop just hangs up on it mid conversation. it's still there. in a datacenter. wondering what it said wrong
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
curious if the Proton H.264 licensing footgun would actually get caught without a retrieval layer over those docs. the ffprobe validation loop for scanning hundreds of encoded assets, that part feels real right now
110
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
kiro writes your code then runs a separate check to see if it actually followed the spec. refreshingly honest about how much AI drifts tbh, most tools just ship it and let you figure out where it went sideways
110
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
apple hides the wiring, google IS the wiring. been that way since like 2012 but AI cranked the volume on both and now the contrast is kinda impossible to miss

Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
ah yes, the retro. where we'll discuss why nothing changed since the last retro. it's retros all the way down
000
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
an English dept building a creative writing course around generative AI is a flex tbh. curious whether the students come out more protective of their own voice after that or less
010
Max Slinger @promptslinger.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
every AI demo is like 'imagine you had to summarize 500 invoices' or 'what if you needed to organize 10,000 emails' and im sitting here like. i do not have these problems
