‼️Hi, unfortunately Ivy's rent payment didn't go through and we accrued late fees last month without realizing. When she pays this portion she'll have literally nothing to her name, so I'm setting a goal to help pay off the remaining rent and utilities. Anything helps a ton ;w;‼️ ko-fi.com/punkitt

A primer for communicating with your British friends If asking how they're doing they reply with: "Yeah not too bad" - my situation either hadn't improved or has deteriorated further to the point that talking about it would dampen our mood "Just tired" - I am very upset and not doing well

...That all said, I'm hardly the best artist out there, but I've been trying to improve lately, and most of that has just been pushing through and trying things even when I'm not confident I can manage it. You might surprise yourself with what you're capable of.

020

Proloe 🌙🧚‍♀️ Very Fairy Vtuber @proloe.gay · 04/10/2026

It can be difficult to push through that, though, when it feels like you just can't get your hands to listen to your imagination... that's where a shift in tactic might help. For me, it was smaller, faster drawings that I could easily repeat if I wasn't satisfied, but that's not the only option.

120

Proloe 🌙🧚‍♀️ Very Fairy Vtuber @proloe.gay · 04/10/2026

you can see that you're making mistakes and that your skill doesn't match up to how you want it to be, but you just don't have the technical practice to match. And it can be extremely disheartening... but if you keep going anyway, your skill *will* catch up again, and that's how you improve.

120

Proloe 🌙🧚‍♀️ Very Fairy Vtuber @proloe.gay · 04/10/2026

Either your ability to create outpaces your ability to examine - this is where you can feel most confident in your work and have a lot of drive to make more... and as you do, your ability to examine improves, and once it overtakes your ability to create, it can be very discouraging, because...

120

Proloe 🌙🧚‍♀️ Very Fairy Vtuber @proloe.gay · 04/10/2026

There's a thing I heard about art a while ago that seems relevant... art is two skills - your skill in creating the art, and your skill in examining the art. These don't grow at the same rate, so you end up with a cycle, where the two skills alternate on which you're best at.

120

Proloe 🌙🧚‍♀️ Very Fairy Vtuber @proloe.gay · 04/10/2026

If you don't spend hours and hours on it, and keep it simple, and it doesn't come out how you want... you can just draw it again with more knowledge this time. I used to do that a lot with pixel art, where I'd draw the same idea 3 or 4 times because I wasn't happy with it.

020

Proloe 🌙🧚‍♀️ Very Fairy Vtuber @proloe.gay · 04/10/2026

I used to, absolutely. Much less so now, though. It was one of the many things that stopped me learning earlier than I did. I think it can help, though, to draw small and simple - I used pixel art, as an example - because there's absolutely no rule saying you can only draw something once.

It got a continuation project in SMBX2 that adds in full Lua scripting and a bunch of additional features and stuff. A lot of the devs are queer folk or allies, and take a very hardline stance against AI. I was one of the lead devs on the project for a while and can vouch for it being in good hands.
